Pat Powers site has a chart that references this info, it doesn't distinguish between duct tape and any other kind of tape, it just says tape gag. |

In the Alfred Hitchcock 1942 film "Saboteur" there is a line of dialogue but no scene. A goon comes to relieve a fellow goon who has been guarding Priscilla Lane's character "Pat Martin" who has been kidnapped. The new goon asks if the girl was any trouble and the guard says "No we came to an arrangement, she agreed not to scream and I agreed to take the tape from her mouth." Medical tape has been around since the 1850's but it seems that the adhesives used were not always reliable. Modern cloth tape is a product of the early 1920's, and was common in industry by 1925. Duct tape was invented by Johnson and Johnson in 1942 as part of the war effort. It seems that the late 20's early 30's would be the earliest we could expect to see a tape gag on film and no duct tape gags prior to 1942. |

I've been on this site for a while, mostly sifting through all the posts...and I found out that I rather enjoy bondage that is used during music videos... Just wondering (to start a conversation), what's some of your favorite music videos with scenes? |

I would have to disagree with you logical/effective gag assessment. Both tape and a cleave are ineffective (not logical) without packing. Tape can be removed with the tongue and so can a cleave (and also damsels can talk pretty easily). With packing 3-4 strips of tape (or wrapping) seem to be pretty well and can be hard to remove. A cleave with packing can be removed pretty easily it seams just by opening wide and pushing the packing out. I guess it could work if it was REALY tight but in my experience (I've tried gags on a few gfs) it hasn't worked well (even with a whole bandana as packing held in with a tightly tied knotted cleave gag. |

I rather enjoy bondage that is used during music videos... what's some of your favorite music videos with scenes? Fleetwood Mac "Everywhere". A retelling of the old story of "The Highwayman". But even better (and more obscure than that) was a song called "Hot". It was by a band beginning with "D" either Darlow or Darro, but searches proved negative... It had businesswomen being tied up and cloth gagged. There may have been a putz or two but it was worth it! I last saw it on "The James Whale Radio Show" (that was the name of his TV show) but sadly the band never broke through. I think I've mentioned it before on this site to no response. Happy Christmas then... |

Objection by Shakira. The scene where she has the homewrecker and her ex bound and gagged in the trunk, sadistically smiling them before slamming it shut. So good, it didn't even bother me that there was a guy. |

> I would have to disagree with you logical/effective gag > assessment. The logical gag thought was based on what would be readily available... if men have been gagging women for a long time (quite likely)... tape was not their first thought, since it didn't exist! Effectiveness was a clarified point - it's effective if the damsel is well behaved! If they aren't, then its an altogether different debate. On the subject of ancient gags, the spanish inquisition documented the use of a ballgag of sorts... a wooden obejct the shape a pear that was inserted into a person's mouth, and the two halves ratched wider to fill the mouth. Nasty! |

Lots of talk above about gags, particularly their use in keeping Damsels quiet. However the point that often gets missed when talking about a gag, is that you wouldn't gag someone just too keep them quiet...you would also want to remove their mouth as a weapon for biting or removing their restraints. This is why duct tape and cleaves would be used as a gag. while not silencing a damsel completely, it does reduce noise, not too mention the ability to talk. Combined with the removal of a damsels mouth as a force for her benefit, and why a damsel may well dislike being gagged in the first place. |

JD said - "On the subject of ancient gags, the spanish inquisition documented the use of a ballgag of sorts... a wooden obejct the shape a pear that was inserted into a person's mouth, and the two halves ratched wider to fill the mouth." I've seen this type of gag used on the old Insex website. One thing for certain, they knew how to gag their models on that site. No wonder, too...considering the tortures they endured. One I particularly remember is a girl having a tennis ball pushed into her mouth and clear packing tape wrapped several times around her head to keep her quiet. Ah, memories! Anybody have any old Insex vid files laying around? I've got about 50GB worth but always looking to add more. |

One Last Thing by Shooting Blanks, where 3 cuties are tape gagged & tied to chairs and forced to listen to a sneering punk song. |

I'm going to be keeping an eye on the new FOX series "Human Target," about some bodyguard-type guy who puts himself between clients and the danger they're facing. Hoping that he isn't always between female clients and the bad guys until some of them get tied... |
Monday December 21 16:47:12 2009 General Hospital possibility |
A new promo talks about a madman (James Franco) tearing Jason and Sam (Kelly Monaco) apart and shows Franco asking Jason, "How much is your girlfriend worth to you?" The editing also suggests that Franco is sneaking up on Sam while she's dipping into a hot tub, but that might be a misleading promo. Still, one rumor online is that Franco kidnaps Sam from the hot tub. Another rumor says he kidnaps Carly first, and while Jason is distracted looking for her, Franco then kidnaps Sam. That plays into some earlier spoilers that Franco ties up Carly. |

There's quite a few hotties on the new season of 24 starting in January. Historically, 24 has always been a great source of scenes - though last season was unusually terrible in this regard (adding insult to injury was the fact it had tons of scenes - but only for the putzes). Fingers crossed that it'll redeem itself. At the very least, it's still an entertaining show IMHO. |

Steve a wrote: > Lots of talk above about gags This is topic I generally consider to be non-productive. The reason has to do with the fact no one ever convinces anyone else to change their mind. For the vast majority, it's how it looks and what they grew up on. You can argue all day that tape is better, but those that don't like tape won't like it. As such let's find some other avenues for discussion. |

JP wrote: > I would also think that most Hollywood actresses would > object to having duct tape wrapped around their heads, > getting all gummed up in their hair. That's also because most directors don't spend their time thinking how to do a wrap-around tape gag without it sticking to the hair. They have more important concerns like keeping their star actors happy, getting the shots they need, etc. A non-damaging wrap-around can be done pretty easily (I've done it a number of times for my sites). Wrapping gauze bandage tightly around the lady's head and then taping over the gauze makes for an effective looking wrap-around tape gag without it causing distress to the lady's face/hair/etc. |

Also, there is Another California Song by Damhnait Doyle. In it, she kidnaps, ties up, tape gags, and taunts her romantic rival. In the age of rivalries between pop starlets and female rappers, you think you'd see more of this dammit! |
