Record number: 9282 Title: Tribe, The (1999) Medium: TV Series Actress: Beth Allen, Antonia Prebble Description: Episode: 3.18-3.24 Teenage sci-fi series from New Zealand. A virus has wiped out all adults, and kids and adolescents form tribes. We follow the tribe the "Mall Rats". Here's a kidnap storyline that spreads over seven episodes altogether, even though the tied up captives are only shown in three. Episode 3.18: Characters Amber (Allen) and Trudy (Prebble) are attacked and overpowered by Ned the kidnapper. Episode 3.19: The Mall Rats recieves a ransom note. Episode 3.20: Amber and Trudy are locked in a room in an abandoned building. Their hands are tied behind their backs. They talk, trying to comfort each other. Episode 3.21: Ned comes to feed his captives. He gloats a bit. They sit backs against the wall, both with their hands tied behind their backs. They seem desperate. Episode 3.22 and 3.23: Captives are not shown, but the Mall Rats discuss if they are still alive, and how to find them. Episode 3.24: We see Amber and Trudy again. Now they sit on the floor, back to back, hands still tied behind. They are even more desperate, hungry, wondering why Ned has not come to feed them as he usually does, and why no Mall Rats come to their rescue. They try to keep up each other's spirit and "think positive". A long scene. Here's a continuity error or a scene cut out: Next they are free, standing, both rubbing their wrists. How they managed to get their hands free after so long is not shown. They then hear someone approaching, and the door is unlocked. It is the evil Guardian who will do no good, but then character Ebony shows and saves our Damsels. Amber and Trudy are never gagged. Both wear "sci-fi" futuristic clothes and rather bizarre hairstyles and makeup. __________ Figure I'm going to split these similar to the Spellbinder show. What do you think about adding in a bound & gagged entry for Ebony based on the episode guide Per? |

Split them? Why? I see no reason for that, but it's you, not me, who are the editor. What will you write on ep 3.22 for example? If you think, I could write an entry for the Ebony scene. I do know how she looks like (cute), but the scene I never saw. Even worse than all the many entries I made based on caps only. Anyway editors rule, coming up.... |

Record number: 9289
Title: Tribe, The Medium: TV Series Actress: Meryl Cassie Description: Episode: 79/80 (based on episode guide descriptions) Adults has been wiped out by a virus, and kids and adolescents form tribes. Character Ebony (Cassie) has been captured by an enemy tribe. She is tortured, and seen bound, gagged and traumatized in a prison cell. She is soon rescued by the Mall Rays, her own tribe. Ok I think I finally get it Jay.(with the single-ep descriptions I mean) I tried to make an entry of the Ebony scene, not much to go on; as Brian said, something better than nothing. Missed the quotation marks around ep number, and made typo "Mall Rays" in the last line: should be "Rats". Wheew! At least we got the series into the DB! |

Why the description is changed? |
Thursday October 30 18:14:38 2003 Re: 9282 |
-now we are at it, there were at least 2 earlier scenes from the Tribe (since caged-only scenes doesn't count, or else it would be more):
One where some female Mall Rats members were shackled and chained -and one where the Mosquitoes (an all-female gang wearing batwoman-like costumes) were tied up in a tunnel by Mall Rats warriors. Briefly. I will try to find them. |

I tried to make an entry of the Ebony scene, not much to go on; as Brian said, something better than nothing." It fine to me. "Missed the quotation marks around ep number," Got it "and made typo "Mall Rays" in the last line: should be "Rats"." Got it Per I also edited your series description abit as we want to steer from mentioning ages due to possible hassles for Brian. Slowly going through whole DB for this, case you wondering. |

Yes I noticed, and knew why before reading this. It's OK your description is fine. Seen from here a little paranoid maybe, then I am not in the US, and I agree no need to call for trouble. (KP (Kansas Population) is not allowed here either; but nobody here would think it was a problem just to mention innocent words like k*d or c***d on an internet page) |

-And, just to avoid any misunderstandings, I would estimate actresses playing Amber, Trudy and Ebony to be in their early twenties. |

Times more fellas in US are using the Canadian Alerts than us up here. Reason brought up Australian Spellbinder show, it aired here Les Maitres Des Sortileges and has scenes running through 3 episodes. But only one of the eps ("25", out of "24" to "26" run), featured a gag scene. If you follow Discussion page, you've noticed quite a few whom only interested in gag scenes. Which happen to make up most of US collectors. This allows for me to post the gag ep for particular time, so when get the US emails, easier to set up taping specific. Imagine same for The Tribe alerts. |
