| @2:00am Space/Imagination Record number: 1439 Title: Buffy the Vampire Slayer Medium: TV Series Actress: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Charisma Carpenter Description: Episode: "The Invisible Girl", aka "Out of Mind, Out of Sight" (1.11) Sarah and Charisma are tied to chairs (wrists tied to the arms, ropes securing their chests to the back) while the invisible girl prepares to slice up their faces. After a few fruitless attempts to get free, Buffy succeeds in getting hold of a scalpel or something from the wheel-table with surgical instruments the cruel Invisible Girl has placed too close to her. She cuts herself free, and after a fight the invisible girl is taken away by two FBI men. In the end, Cordelia asks, "Can I be untied now?" As Buffy prepares to down the evil presence there is one of the most effective scenes in the whole of the series. Buffy stands silently so that her keen senses can tell where the enemy is located. A light breeze blows through her hair; the whole scene is magical. Then she does her stuff. ______________________ @3:00pm CKVR Record number: 932 Title: Earth: Final Conflict Medium: TV Series Actress: Lisa Howard Description: Episode: "The Devil You Know" (1.17) In an episode concerning a stolen Taelon superweapon, Lili Marquette (Howard) is captured by the thieves when she tries to enter their hideout. They cuff her hands behind her back. She picks the lock and makes her escape, running smack into the leader of the gang. They drag her back to the hideout, ths time taping her hands behind her. The gang goes off the sell the weapon, leaving a guard behind. He starts to give her trouble for escaping but forgets two things - 1) she's a Marine and 2) her feet aren't tied. Before you can say "Semper Fi" the thug is a bleeding wreck on the floor and Lili is headed for the exit. _______________ @4:00pm CKVR Record number: 4149 Title: Star Trek: Voyager (1995) Medium: TV Series Actress: Kate Mulgrew Description: Episode: "Shattered" (7.11) An officer from Voyager's future travels back in time then takes Captain Janeway (Mulgrew) along with him back thru time portals (or something like that). Along the way they venture into the oldtime serial movie portal where Captain Janeway is captured and strapped to a laboratory gurney. She gets out of her predicament by playing along with the villain's idea that she is his lover Arachnia, Queen of the Spider People. Elements of Kate's scene: 1. 1940's serial movie atmosphere - she is snatched by a big clunky robot of the 40's serial movie variety. 2. Strapped to a gurney. 3. Unfortunately most of the camerawork during this scene stays above the point of restraint. |

Record number: 2669 Title: Profiler Medium: TV Series Actress: Lori Petty Description: Episode: "Venom", Part 2 (1.22) In usual Profiler fashion the scene, for the most part, is darkly lit and with no real good camera shots. Sam is knocked out and when she comes to she is blinded and surrounded by poisonous creatures. She calls out for help but the only one around is Lori who is sitting on the floor with her feet bound and her hands tied over her head. There is a sack over her head, and all she can tell Sam is "MMMMMPPPHHH!!". Lori makes so much noise that Jack tells her to shut up several times. When the VCTF shows up to save the day there is a brief, well lit shot of the bag being pulled off her head to show her tape gagged. |

Record number: 6142 Title: Legend of the Golden Gun, The (1979) Medium: TV Movie Actress: Elissa Leeds Description: The very cute Sara Powell (Leeds) finds herself captured by the bad guys who want her land (let's hear it for originality). Around 1:30 in the movie we see our blonde heroine sitting in a chair in a corner of the cave, as it were, hands tied in front and ropes around her body. Later the bad guys (Robert Davi and R. G. Armstrong) hang the chair over an open mine shaft as they try to force her to sign a deed (that's why her hands are still tied in front.) No gag but heck, she's in a mine, who ya gonna call? Scene goes on for a long time as the rope slowly frays and the hero, dressed all in white -- natch, fights the bad guys -- straight out of an old serial. |

Hunter gets her to distract Whitman through hand signs, after which he sneaks up, gets the drop on him, and releases her. |

He takes Michelle, and a briefcase full of neckties, to a seedy motel where Michelle strips down to a slip. When we next see her, her hands are tied behind her back with a necktie and she's begging for her life. When "Peter McDermott" (James Brolin) bangs on the door, she tries to scream and is rewarded with an excellent handgag. She gets out a couple of nice mmmppphs before he breaks down the door, beats up the guy and unties her. This was Michelle Johnson's first scene. |
