Thursday July 21 11:20:21 2022 Stupid Stuff That You Like |
What are some unrealistic, goofy, sloppy, or just plain DUMB things that pop up in mainstream damsel scenes... that you still actually like? Mine are: 1) When ladies have really thin or unpacked cleave gags and just straight up talk through them. Like, muffled but understandable speech. It makes no logical sense for a kidnapping scenario, and defeats the whole idea of a gag, but I like the humiliation aspect of it and find the sound of the slightly muffled voices oddly hot. 2) On a similar note, when damsels have their hands tied in front of them (Or not tied at all) and they could easily take off their gag, but they don't. The best are the scenes where the girl actually reaches up and touches the gag and acts likes she's tempted to yank it off, but thinks better of it. 3) Comedies and really lighthearted adventure shows where characters get tied up and instead of being terrified or angry they just act annoyed. Like encountering bank robbers and spending an evening bound and gagged is like being stuck in traffic or going to the DMV something. Happens to everyone. One of those things that makes you sigh and roll your eyes. |

Thursday July 21 12:38:53 2022 Dirty Rags and such |
I am wondering if anyone can think of a really foul but effective gagging done on an actress? Like a dirty rag, tight cleave or tape gag, etc. I'll say the original TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE. That was when the creep grabbed a dirty rag that was lying on an old radiator and stuffed it in her mouth. While still a bang up scene, the camera angles were not super. Too much time was focused on the guy's face when he was binding her hands behind, along with the gagging. Should have focused more on the victim's plight! BTW, this is being shown on TV Friday. So, some of you may know The 1926 Buster Keaton The General DiD scene. This database says a rope has been wrapped around her skirt in the scene where she's carried, but I don't see it there (she's also not gagged when she's carried). Did I miss something? |

This one, too: Record number: 2461 Title: Nemesis 2: Nebula (1995) Medium: Movie Actress: Sue Price, Tina Cote, Karen Studer Description: About half an hour into the movie, female bodybuilder Sue Price (lots of cleavage!) gets abducted by natives. Her wrists are tied in front and she's gagged with a dirty cloth between her teeth. And this one: Record number: 26338 Title: Chop Chop (2020) Medium: Movie Actress: Atala Arce DB doesn't describe it as dirty, but it looks it and some of the blood from her head (she was KO'd) has dripped onto the rag as well. |

I know that in reality, unless one of the camera angles will include a shot of her wrists, she's most likely simply holding her hands behind her back. And having seen how it takes a half-day(!) between wardrobe selection, makeup, repeated takes, etc. to film a 60-second commercial of one professional actor standing in front of a green screen, I can understand why. On the other hand, with the hands bound in front I can see that the actress was "really" tied, at least for that take. My "Stupid Stuff That I Like" would include: 4) Despite being thrown into a high-stress situation (such as a kidnapping), damsels don't require frequent bathroom breaks. At least in Nora Roberts' "High Noon", the SWAT team and police negotiator realized that the gunman would have to start cycling his jewelry store hostages' bathroom breaks within the first couple hours of the standoff. And apparently, they can sleep thru the entire night tied to a bed or chair, without having to get up (Something I know would be impossible for me to do). 5) Non-bondage model damsels can wear a Ballgag for more than 45 minutes, without invoking the safeword. |

The kid removes his dirty socks and cleave gags both Mrs Kramer and her putz husband onscreen. Pretty realistic gag too, and pretty disgusting for sure. Don't know if I have seen any other scene where can top that |

Starr Andreef was gagged with a sock in General Hospital, although in a twist the captor says "I'd hate to think of my little girl's socks in this filthy mouth, but a woman's gotta do what a woman's gotta do, right?" https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0056758/mediaviewer/rm2033946881/ |

Like a dirty rag, Title: Dark Angel Medium: TV Series Actress: Jessica Alba aka Jessica Marie Alba Description: Episode: "Some Assembly Required" (2.7) Max Guevara (Alba) gets gagged - however brief the scene may be. 32 minutes in w/o commercials, Max is captured (you don't see the capture scene, although someone pricks her with a needle or something right before) and when we next see her, she is bound to metal autopsy table, a sheet over her body, you can see her struggling underneath it. When the bad guys pull off the sheet, you can see that she is strapped to the table with leather restraints (medical restraints, brown leather, ankles and wrists in leather cuffs and with wide leather straps over her waist and knees. She is gagged with a dirty looking grey cloth that is held in place with rubber medical tube tubing. The gag is removed very quickly (i.e. in less that 4 seconds), so don't blink ;) Standard bad guy gloating ensues for a while. |

IIRC There was commentary on that famous scene where either the director or someone else makes mention that they took pity on poor Marilyn Burns because that rag was just as dirty as it looked. It had literally just been laying around. |

If I'm not mistaken, Atala Arce herself said on Instagram that the gag was indeed dirty and disgusting. |

Never had a problem with this under certain scenarios. The purpose can be to muffle or tone down their ability to yell. If they're holding a damsel in an isolated warehouse, deserted office building, probably don't need an effective gag. Same thing goes for more isolated places, cabins, etc. Driving in a car, too. Sometimes, it's just a power thing. Stephanie Kramer's gag in the Night of the Dragon Hunter episode, she's in a hidden underground tunnel and she mouths off. So she gets gagged. She could have screamed her head off, and no one outside would have heard her, but she ran her mouth and the newspaper guy wanted to show her who's boss. Now, if someone is there to save them, and they're over in the next room ... different story. |
Thursday July 21 19:34:24 2022 Re: Stupid Stuff That You Like |
The Hardy Boys Campus Terror episode was pretty silly in that the DinD's are B&G for days in some cases and basically sit still the entire time (and they're as fresh as daisies when rescued). Of course, all of their scenes were filmed at the same time, probably within a few hours. https://i.imgur.com/SMrOooB.jpg |

In the audio commentary on the DVD of WRONG TURN the beautiful Eliza Dushku briefly mentions how her gag was really disgusting and nasty. |
