I know people love the cleave scenes, but wasn't that too thin? I think tape would have looked better on that actress. But she is a sexy TV cop.

I am just so bored with tape .There have been some amazing scenes over the years but right now it seems whenever a gag is required on tv or in the movies a two inch strip of tape across the lips loosely is all that's required .Nice to see the listener ,bucking the trend ,though the show itself is dreadful.

While I prefer cleaves, I'm not sure I'd say that it's *always* been tape in recent times. It seems like there's been a decent number of cleave scenes over the last year. I'd probably guestimate the ratio of tape-to-cleaves is around 60/40, so not THAT out of whack.

I'd lean toward 70/30 tape to cleave, but I'd say we're definitely in the same ballpark.

I prefer cleaves too, but it's not that I dislike tape: I just dislike silver duct tape, the tape we see most of the time these days (I'd venture at least 90 percent, wouldn't you)?

Not only do I not find it too aesthetically appealing, but it's too often applied too loosely or just on the edges. The black-colored duct tape isn't any better, IMHO.

I miss the 1980s--probably no coincidence these were the formative years of my mainstream-bondage interests--when tape gags seemed more likely to be white and often were pretty adhesive. Even when they weren't tight, they just looked great, a la Heather Locklear in that first T.J. Hooker scene, Stefanie Kramer in Hunter or Pamela Hensley in Matt Houston.

We'd even get some translucent gags from time to time (I felt transparent was too clear to register, but a nice translucent tape looked great).

We need more translucent gags.

Tape/Cleave
It is not the tape itself, it is the sloppy ineffective way that it is currently being used that is the problem.

With a cleave it only requires a small amount of suspension of belief to accept that the DID cannot communicate clearly.

But, a piece of tape that barely covers the lips and is barely staying on just brings a 'F*ck*ng *d**ts' response.

Now, a nice wrap around tape gag [preferably with mouth packing just peeking out] is a whole different ball game !!!!!!!!!!

JMHO AAYMMV

Jacot, I think most people including myself will agree wholeheartedly on the all silencing wraparound gag maybe with tape or the elastowrap material. Damsels look so beautiful and helpless when gagged like that. It's just so rare to see outside commercial bondage stuff. I think that's why the recent scene from "Shuttle" got such a buzz on here. Most people were willing to forgive the lack of ligatures on girls because they were gagged so effectively and looked so beautiful.

The Listener
I just wanted to chime in with my opinion on this recent scene. First, I want to thank James Gagney for hooking us up with the scene. I love how the community here contributes to the hobby. I love the struggling and emotion from the damsel. The director did not do her a favor with such a thin cleave gag but she made it work. I especially like her helpless look at the 34 second mark on the clip. If the director would have had a more substantial gag on her, then I really would have liked this scene. However, I still think it was a good one and will be a keeper for some time.
