It's definitely Lydia Leonard, not Laura Linney. I remember the scene when it premiered a couple of years ago. Too bad the scene isn't longer, but she's kinda cute. |

Monday March 28 00:57:48 2011 Re: CSI: Miami |
The scene of Eva LaRue bound and gagged is yet another example of a "show her gagged at first to establish that she is a captive, then take the gag off so that she can talk with her captor" scene. We have seen it many times. Since her captor was driving the vehicle, they needed her to remove her own gag, so her hands were bound in front. It is a good scene: Her hands are thoroughly and realistically bound with tape. She is gagged with tape that is well sealed over her mouth. Her eyes show fright above her gag. There are closeups. It is Eva LaRue. However, considering the possibilities, it is also very disappointing: A lot of the closeups are too close, without showing her whole head. The camera moves around too much. Her head is shown mostly sideways. The gag is removed too early. The scene could have been done without the removal of the gag and still communicate the point of the dialogue. The captor could have done all the talking. TV show producers seem very concerned with making their shows "realistic", yet they continue to show women with their hands bound in front of them, which is completely unrealistic and makes no sense. How can they think that the mainstream TV audience would take that seriously? Why don't they show a bound (with her hands bound behind her) and gagged heroine working and struggling to free herself or contact someone to help her? That is real drama. The mainstream TV audience would take that seriously. As usual, the scene could have been a classic. |

That's an old one (2006) that they have resurrected as part of the campaign to select a new voice for the duck (as it's silent and all that). The Mod would be very cross if anyone attempted to discuss the reasons for this. DB says the actress is Valerie Azlynn. |

Monday March 28 01:56:23 2011 Kaman's close ups too close |
Off Kaman's mention of "close ups that are too close", I didn't see the scene he's talking about, but I know what he means. I've seen a particular kind of shot where the camera focuses in on the top of the face- without showing the gag- to get a reaction shot or a damsel waking up, then pulls back- sometimes very slowly- to show she is gagged. AHA! The big reveal! What a surprise, audience! If I'd only seen it done once I would've shrugged and moved on, but I've seen it in more than 1 movie by different directors. So, I'll still shrug and move on. |

I am "glad" they gagged her too, but it was harldy necessary for the plot. It made no sense at all other than to feed those who wanted to see a lack cloth pulled between those beautiful red lips. In the Starshipe episode at least the gag set up the rescue by the guy. Had she not been gagged--and left gagged--she would have simply said "untie me and I can take care of the bomb" |

Had she not been gagged--and left > gagged--she would have simply said "untie me and I > can take care of the bomb" Was her rescuer perchance a bumbling oaf who, upon discovering her bound and gagged, immediately began untying her ankles? I vaguely recall this episode. A vexed Lynda Carter rolled her eyes at his lack of common sense; his first step in freeing her should've been removing her gag. She made indignant noises through her gag in an attempt to convey to him this idea, and he finally caught on, and removed her gag. I don't recall whether she admonished him once her mouth was free. |

Kaman wrote: > The scene of Eva LaRue bound and gagged is yet another > example of a "show her gagged at first to establish > that she is a captive I would agree on all your points here, especially the super closeups that I don't think work well, although in this case, they were OK simply because Larue is so gorgeous. I also would have preferred she be sitting up like a traditional scene instead of laying down. That way you get her hair in the shots instead of it falling out of the screen. The lay down would have been nice if the camera were closer on the full body shots instead of shooting from the back of the van. That said, it's still Eva frecking Larue bound and gagged for her second tie-up in 4 weeks in a show that's in Season 9 and doesn't need stunts to stay on the air. Now if only NCIS can do this to Cote De Pablo and The Mentalist to Amanda Righetti I'd be happy. |

I don't mind stunts. But the only reason I'd watch a show with David Caruso spending most of an hour wearing shades, standing with hands on hips and all but shouting "Damn! Ain't I cool!" is if it had a scene like this. |

Hopefully, Natasha Henstridge is next. She's appearing in the season finale and the season-opener next year, and if her pilot doesn't get picked up, could be a semi-regular. |

Can anyone think of other instances in mainstream medua where a hot damsel is rescued by a character who is more bumbling oaf rather than dashing hero? |

A really nice looking black cleave gag on the promo for next week's "The Event". Beautiful brunette. |

> > Hadji wrote: > Can anyone think of other instances in mainstream medua > where a hot damsel is rescued by a character who is more > bumbling oaf rather than dashing hero? The one that immediately comes to mind is Charisma Carpenter getting rescued by Wesley on "Parting Gifts" epidsode of "Angel". She is kidnapped by a demon and about to get her eyes poked out when the good guys come to the rescue. Angel fights the baddies and tells Wesley to get Cordelia (Charisma). Wes as the bumbling oaf/hero trips and falls over himself before finally cutting her loose. She looks incredible as a bound and gagged damsel...great emoting with her eyes right when they come to her rescue. |

I'm pretty sure it's Taylor Cole, the chick who does the tying up in the other two scenes this show has put out so far. She's the last one I'd figure would get a scene in this show since she's the "evil tough chick" but man, if it is in fact her in that promo shot, it will certainly be cause to... <img src="http://www.forexrobottrading.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/FAPturboProduct.jpg"> |
