Later hero Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) stumbles upon her in a Bedouin tent, cleave gagged with a sodden hankerchief, her wrists bound behind her back and around the center pole which supports the tent's roof. Indy ungags her and they have a tender reunion (he thought she was dead) but then rethinks the situation and decides to regag her much to her understandable (and vocal) dismay. Later, she is seen in the same predicament, briefly, as she tries to squirm away from one of the villians who unties her. In these scenes she's wearing slacks and a white and red patterned blouse. Towards the end of the film, Marion and Indy are tied to a stake back to back while the Nazis prepare to open the Ark. The ropes, curiously, tie their left wrists to the corresponding right one of their partner. When the spirits of the Ark are released, they destroy the Nazis and burn through the heroes bindings, leaving them unscathed. In the latter scene, Marion is wearing a white satin cocktail dress. |

In a later shot we see them carrying her across the top of the train. A rope has been wrapped around her skirt. In the third shot she is sitting atop the wood on the tender with her gag and the skirt wrappings gone but her hands appearently still tied behind her. Later she is led into a house with her hands now unbound. She is locked in a bedroom but escapes with the aid of Buster Keaton. He smuggles her out by putting her in a large sack. @10:00am HistCan Record number: 1228 Title: King Solomon's Mines (1985) Medium: Movie Actress: Sharon Stone Description: As the client/love interest of Allan Quartermain (Richard Chamberlain) in this remake, Stone is kidnapped early in the film while she and her guide walk through a crowded bazaar. She's grabbed by a native who hand-gags her, and ends up being carried off rolled up in a rug (the rolling-up isn't shown), escaping when she falls over a ledge when the rug is unrolled. Towards the end of the movie, she's abducted again by natives who want to sacrifice her by dropping her into a pit of molten lava. She's restrained by two long sticks with hooped ends, wielded by natives on either side of her, as a glowing "crown" apparently made of red-hot rock tries to lower itself onto her. Incidentally, neither the 1937 nor 1950 film versions of this story contain any bondage or bondagelike scenes. @7:00pm CKVR Record number: 5230 Title: Immortal, The (2000) Medium: TV Series Actress: April Telek Description: Episode: "Spy Vs. Spa" (1.17) In a sillier-than-usual ep centering on a Cold War flashback, Ms. Telek, in black wig and Hungarian accent, is seen around the 40' mark being hustled out of a room, and about five minutes later is shown overgagged with a patterned scarf and chained arms raised over a vat of "the waters of Hell". After being rescued, the scarf remains around her neck through the rest of the sequence, which lasts about five minutes. @8:45pm CFTM Les Ensorceleuses (1998) aka US Title: Record number: 990 Title: Practical Magic (1998) Medium: Movie Actress: Nicole Kidman Description: (1) Nick has a brief blindfold scene about mid-movie. (2) Near the end, she's possessed by an evil spirit, and in preparation for a sort of "witches' exorcism," she's seen tied to a chair with rope, legs criss-crossed from ankles to thighs, ropes encircling her upper arms, torso, and the chair; and lower arms lashed to the chair arms from wrists to elbows. No gag. There's a brief long shot and a brief head shot. The second scene comes in around the 85' mark, and ends about a minute later. |
