Record number: 647 Title: X-Files, The Medium: TV Series Actress: Angela Donahue, Gillian Anderson Description: Episode: "Unruhe" (4.4) (1996) Mulder and Scully track a psychotic killer whose psychic photographs reveal the madman's murderous fantasies. He kidnaps women, binds them to a dentist chair and gags them with duct tape, then kills them by inserting a spike into their brains. About fifteen minutes in, we see a head shot of one such victim (Donahue) gagged with duct tape as the bad guy approaches her with a floral-print cloth drape that will hide her bonds the next time she appears about seven minutes later. At the beginning of the episode's climax, the killer hides underneath Scully's car and KO's her by injecting a needle into her ankle. He carries her in his arms and then drives off to his hideout. When Scully wakes up at about 47 minutes, she is duct taped to a dentist chair, her wrists taped down to the arms of the chair. After some talking, the bad guy finally realizes he must do her in, grabs his roll of tape, and gags her-- excellent close-up as the tape is applied to her pouty lips. Furious mmphing ensues, but when Mulder shows up, the killer is distracted and Scully manages to break free of the tape and rip off her gag. Mulder saves her, shooting and killing the psycho. This is a great scene overall--excellent mmphing and emoting, and plenty of close-ups as well, complete with on-screen gagging. |

Record number: 2856 Title: Spy Games (1999) aka History Is Made at Night Medium: Movie Actress: Irene Jacob Description: French Actress Irene Jacob plays a Russian spy who lives with, and has fallen in love with her assignment, CIA agent Bill Pullman. In the last half hour of the film, Irene, wearing black leather pants, and a black sweater, tries to switch sides. Her bosses catch her and she is grabbed up. (Literally. A "Russian" thug grabs her, turns her upside down, and walks out of the room with her as she kicks her legs in the air.) She is chair tied, interrogated for a minute or two, and then tape gagged with silver duct tape. Some good struggling, some short but great mmmphing, and a couple of great close-ups. In a second scene we get a close up of her tape gagged face, hanging upside down from the roof of an abandoned warehouse. She's lowered on a winch, the tape is removed, and her arms are held by two toughs while Pullman and his ex-Soviet counterpart negotiate over a (literally) explosive videotape. |

They stumble into a battle where the bad guys are using gunpowder. Off in search of the black powder's secret ingredients, Gabrielle and guy are captured and place in stocks. Gabrielle manages to retrieve a little gunpowder from the guy's pants and blows open the locks. Later, Gabrielle and guy run into the villianess who binds them, arms spread wide, to carts booby-trapped with gunpowder, Gabrielle is also detective gagged with a black cloth. Not to worry, Xena rescues them before the powder trails explode the carts. |
