Lots of bondage torture scenes |
Record number: 12496 Title: Imagining Argentina (2003) Medium: Movie Actress: Emma Thompson, Sara Fernandez, Leticia Dolera Description: Grim surrealistic tale, set in Argentina during the 1976-83 military dictatorship, of a children's theater director (Antonio Banderas) whose journalist wife (Thompson) runs afoul of the regime when she reports on two disappearances that may be linked to it-and as a result, becomes one of "the disappeared" herself. Her husband then develops a strange clairvoyance that allows him to see what has happened to the growing number of missing, which gains him something of a cult following among their loved ones. His vision of his wife's fate, however, is not as clear, which leads him on a rather disjointed quest to find her. About 35 minutes in he makes his way to an abandoned warehouse where from a catwalk above he views a metal table, upon which his nude wife (either Thompson or a body double) appears lying on her back while being beaten in a flashback shot of about a second. Her captors hide her midsection and the shot is so brief it is difficult to see if she is bound. Then, at about an hour, a fully clothed Thompson is shown bent face-down over the end of a metal bedframe, secured to it by chains attached to leather straps around her wrists, while she is being sodomized by a jailer, who also has all his clothes on (he is shown zipping up his pants after he finishes). Despite the assault being only implied, the scene is still rather difficult to watch. Several minutes later, a young man comes to see the director, telling him his sister is among the disappeared. The director envisions a young woman (Fernandez) shown from behind in a couple of brief shots sitting seminude in a chair with a black hood over her head and her hands being tied behind her. The bonds are clearer in the second shot after the tying is finished. The director, however, isn't fooled; when the hood is pulled off, he declares that the man has no sister and is a spy sent by the government-which he is. Bad move. After he further taunts the junta by putting on a play critical of the government its agents pay him a visit, and his daughter (Dolera) joins her mother in captivity. At roughly an hour and ten minutes she's shown on the same bedframe on which her mother was assaulted, lying on her back in a narrow spreadeagle with similar bonds. She's barefoot and clad in a short green dress. The spy her father exposed then stands over her menacingly with an electric probe that he will use to torture her, but he is not shown using it. A brief head-and-shoulders closeup of Dolera chained to the bed is shown again about twenty minutes later. |
Spider-Man 2 (2004) |
Day: Friday October 19 2007 |
Time: 5:00 PM EST |
Channel: FX |
Title: Spider-Man 2 (2004) aka Spiderman 2 aka The Amazing Spider-Man Medium: Movie Actress: Kirsten Dunst Description: At the climax of the movie Dr. Octopus has kidnapped Mary Jane (the lovely Kirsten Dunst). We see her tied up with rope, her arms stretched over head and wrapped by a heavy chain around her torso and her legs. When a magnetic field is created by Dr. Octopus' mad experiment she is pulled off the ground (because of the chains) and we see her being stretched horizontally (as if she were on a torture rack). Lots of screaming until Spiderman saves her from death. On Disc 2 of the two-DVD set, there is a fascinating segment titled "Enter the Web" which features the shooting of the climactic scenes shown from multiple angles. It's revealed that Durst was suspended both vertically and horizontally during the bondage sequence, and the filmmakers didn't resort to using a stunt double. |

She tries to alert someone at the door by thumping down a staircase. In the last twenty minutes or so (without commercials). Prior to this, but still in the second half, she's the recipient of a relatively lengthy handgag. Right before the gagged scene, Stefanie Powers gets another handgag as she is trying to explain to one of her captors that her cohert, assisting in getting the bonds on Ms. Powers killed her husband. The woman slaps a handgag on firmly and yells tot he other lady, "Gag and bind her!" And the gagged scene is an over the mouth detective gag which turns into a cleave gag as the scenes unfold and presumably from Ms. Powers struggles.
