They don't like her lip, so she's quickly handcuffed and tape gagged. Sitting in a boat, the blonde cutie has her wrists cuffed behind her back and is gagged on-screen with silver duct tape. (Earlier in the episode, she was cuffed to a guy). Her captor leads her through the woods to some camp. Once there, he cuffs one of her wrists to a vertical tube and then ungags her. She's left alone to deal with a bomb set to explode. BTW, she's clad in a wet uniform, wears high heels and the tape gag is really sticky! |

Record number: 9798 Title: Iron Jawed Angels (2004) Medium: Movie Actress: Frances O'Connor, Hilary Swank Description: The film's set in the latter years of the struggle for women's suffrage in the United States, which culminated in the ratification of the 19th Amendment in 1920. About an hour and twenty minutes in, activist Lucy Burns (O'Connor) and four compatriots are rather violently hustled to their cells after a confrontation with their prison's warden (they had been jailed after refusing to pay fines for picketing the White House). The jailers cuff Burns' wrists over her head, and the warden, before leaving, orders them to "put a buckle gag on her", or any of the others, if they make another sound. In a quiet show of solidarity, the other prisoners stand at their cell doors and, one by one, raise their arms to mimic Burns' stance. About ten minutes later, suffragist Alice Paul (Swank), who has joined her comrades behind bars, is shown being straitjacketed and rather roughly escorted to a meeting with a prison psychologist after going on a hunger strike while in solitary confinement. She isn't wearing the jacket any longer, however, during the interview. A few minutes later, after she's been released into the general population, she enters the cafeteria and encourages the others to refuse food as well. In response, she's seized by guards and, to the strains of the other prisoners singing "Will the Circle Be Unbroken?", dragged off to a room where she's strapped at the forehead and wrists to a chair in which she's force-fed through a tube and funnel, after being forced to open her mouth by a guard pinching her nostrils shut. |

Record number: 819 Title: Bound (1996) Medium: Movie Actress: Gina Gershon, Jennifer Tilly Description: Ms. Tilly is the frustrated wife of a low-level mobster, and Ms. Gershon is her newly-found love interest. Together they hatch a plot to make off with a stash of the mob's money. Gershon is shown in three brief precursor scenes, bound hand and foot with a good bit of white rope and thickly gagged with a knotted cleave on the floor of a closet. The first is during the film's opening credits, the second about 40' in (one brief closeup of her face), and the third at the beginning of the main bondage sequence about 20' from the end. She wears a tank top, pants and boots. Tilly wears a red dress and heels. When Tilly's husband figures out their scheme, he knocks both unconscious in respective struggles and ties each with their ankles together and their hands behind their backs. He lays Gershon on the floor before him, and places Tilly in a chair. When he leaves the room for a moment, Tilly slides onto the floor to try and help Gershon, but before she can, he returns with a pair of tin snips, gags Tilly as described above for Gershon, and threatens to cut off her fingers one at a time unless Gershon tells him where the money is. Then his door buzzer sounds, and, after again knocking Gershon out, he carries her -- now also gagged -- into the closet, then lifts Tilly over his shoulder to carry her into the bathroom, where he lays her on the floor with her back propped up against a wall. After he convinces her to help him hide the situation from the mob enforcers on their way up to the apartment, there is a shot of Tilly untying her ankles. Once the gangsters leave, Tilly runs for it, and while her husband chases her, Gershon manages to open the closet doors and writhe over to where he left the tin snips, which she uses to escape. In a two-hour AMC airing, with ads, the closeup comes in around the 40' mark, as stated, but the last segment begins about 90' in, and continues on until around the 112' mark. |
