Record number: 2874 Title: The Perfect Tenant (2000) Medium: Movie Actress: Stacy Hogue Description: Direct-to-video thriller starring Maxwell Caulfield as a psycho who gets revenge on Linda Purl and her family. Hogue plays Purl's teenage daughter, who is suspicious of him. When he catches on, he kidnaps her, handgagging her as he takes her out of the house. When Purl gets a call from Caulfield, she hears Hogue mmmphing over the phone. When she goes to the house Caulfield has her daughter in, she is taken to the kitchen, where Hogue is standing on a table, her hands tied behind her back, her feet tied, and gagged with a huge strip of duct tape. She also has a noose around her neck attached to the ceiling. In the climax of the scene, Caulfield tries to slide the table from under Hogue's feet, and Purl is at the other end of the table. There is a happy ending for Hogue. The whole scene lasts over five minutes, with many nice shots of Hogue, particularly during the climax of the scene. She does plenty of mmmphing, not so much struggling. Great scene, unless you prefer intricate rope work; then skip it. Great video box art too, which has a picture of Hogue's gagged face. Ms. Hogue's feet are clad in only white socks and bound together. This scene should please those who like socks because there are plenty of close-ups as she is attempting to balance herself on the table. The scenes occur in the last half hour. |

Seated in a chair, a groggy Patricia then finds her wrists being taped in front of her, with a smaller piece applied as a gag. Several brief scenes over the next couple of minutes before villainess Erika pushes her victim into another room, placing her on the floor before applying tape to her ankles. Our heroine eventually self-administers an antidote, frees herself, and saves her husband and the day. Her DiD costuming consists of Early Soccer Mom blouse and pants. |

Title: Ties That Bind (2006) Medium: TV Movie Actress: Nicole de Boer Description: This made-for-Lifetime movie is a cautionary tale about *not* renting your guest house to psycho/nurses. (Always a sound policy.) Nicole plays Megan, the lawyer/wife, & Brian Krause (Leo on "Charmed") plays the doctor/husband. Sonya Salomaa plays Courtney, the psycho/nurse. In the last 15 minutes, Megan (dressed casually in jeans, t-shirt, sweater, hoodie, & boots) goes to confront Courtney in the guest house. Courtney pulls a syringe and Megan fades to unconsciousness as the movie fades to commercial. When next we see Megan, it's a closeup of her face. Silver duct tape is tightly plastered to her lips. The camera pulls back, & we (& she) discover she is spreadeagled to Courtney's bed (fully clothed as before), in leather medical restraints. Much struggling and m'mmpfhing ensues, in one of the best gloating scenes I've seen in years. Courtney to Megan: "It's no use fighting. I use those to restrain PCP freakouts." No closeups of the restraints, but we can tell she's really helpless. Numerous closeups of her tape-gagged face, and we can see that the tape is well-adhered to her face. A small sliver of tape repeatedly balloons as she pants & tries to scream. VERY convincing Damsel-in-Distress. Meanwhile, Courtney-the-psycho nurse is delivering a chilling monologue. At one point, she climbs on the bed and rests her head on the same pillow as Megan, & the director gives us a dual closeup. Nicole does an *outstanding* job of selling Megan's plight. Courtney delivers a second injection, & again Megan fades into unconsciousness. Later, something strange but wonderful happens: When hubbie comes to rescue Megan, her bonds have been changed! It's still the same hospital restraints, but now her wrists are cuffed together and to her ankles, and an additional of pair are strapped now around her elbows! The elbow cuffs and ankle cuffs are strapped to the bed and the wrist/ankle junction is a double "Y" of straps joined with rings. (I believe this is called "four point restraint" by nurses (psycho and otherwise).) Hubbie rips off the tape and frees her wrists and elbows, then Megan does a crunch and frees her ankles. Then it's off to the climax! |
