Title: The X-Files Medium: TV Series Actress: Angela Donahue, Gillian Anderson Description: Episode: "Unruhe" (4.4) (1996) Mulder and Scully track a psychotic killer whose psychic photographs reveal the madman's murderous fantasies. He kidnaps women, binds them to a dentist chair and gags them with duct tape, then kills them by inserting a spike into their brains. About fifteen minutes in, we see a head shot of one such victim (Donahue) gagged with duct tape as the bad guy approaches her with a floral-print cloth drape that will hide her bonds the next time she appears about seven minutes later. At the beginning of the episode's climax, the killer hides underneath Scully's car and KO's her by injecting a needle into her ankle. He carries her in his arms and then drives off to his hideout. When Scully wakes up at about 47 minutes, she is duct taped to a dentist chair, her wrists taped down to the arms of the chair. After some talking, the bad guy finally realizes he must do her in, grabs his roll of tape, and gags her-- excellent close-up as the tape is applied to her pouty lips. Furious mmphing ensues, but when Mulder shows up, the killer is distracted and Scully manages to break free of the tape and rip off her gag. Mulder saves her, shooting and killing the psycho. This is a great scene overall--excellent mmphing and emoting, and plenty of close-ups as well, complete with on-screen gagging. |

Cloth wrap gag over her mouth. He pulls the gag off but she calls him an idiot for letting this happen. He puts the gag back on and she mmmphs for awhile. When she agrees to be good, he rolls her over on her belly and unties her hands. She then unties her ankles, rubs her wrists and lights a cigarette. |

We see her in a comfy chair with her hands tied in front with white rope, and brown ropes above and below her breasts binding her to the chair. She's sporting a duct tape gag. Her captor almost immediately covers her with a blanket, so the bonds are visible only briefly, but we get a few more shots of her gagged face after that. The scene lasts about a minute altogether. |

They think she has residual memories from her time as a Goa'uld host, so they strap her to a gurney/teatment bed using black nylon cuffs at the wrists and ankles. Her head and upper body are comfortably elevated and her arms are at her sides. She's dressed in a blue top, black pants, and black boots. No gag. (They *are* trying to interrogate her. The alien device they're using to trigger her memory is painful, so it's something of a torture scene, and the two male Trust agents twiddling the knobs do a credible job of gloating over their helpless victim. Vala is her usual brave, wise-cracking self. "You realize I'm going to kill you both" she says at one point (or words to that effect). There's a botched rescue attempt by commando/SWAT types, things blow up real good, but Vala escapes, suffering from amnesia but otherwise unharmed. |
