Tuesday November 17 00:04:49 2009 Law and Order question |
I believe I have on a tape a fairly recent episode (maybe a year old) of Law and Order: Criminal Intent where at the end, a psycho blonde lady is holding a woman and (I think) her child's school teacher tied back to back in chairs & both are cleave gagged. Katherine Erbe & her partner burst in & save the day. There is no such scene listed in the database. Am I thinking of the correct Law & Order (I know there are several Law & Order shows, maybe it's NOT Criminal Intent))? I have the scene on a compilation tape I got but there is no info on it, like the actress's names. Can anyone confirm this scene & if so, the actress's names? |

I recognize the episode from your description; it has indeed been entered into the voluminous Scene Database. The title is lengthy, and includes the word "interviewing" and the name of President Nixon. The woman who takes the two teachers captive is, unfortunately, much hotter than they are. |

I can't figure out what you're trying to say. Is there a reason you didn't just post the DB entry? |

You guys sound a hell of a lot more excited about this that I will ever be until I see some actual results. We're talking about a franchise that, except for the Hispanic version, basically sucked at gagging it's female "stars", given the genre at hand. The rare exception always proved to be the "ugly" angel. Now, admittedly, Kate Jackson was certainly no dog by any reasonable standard, but let's face it, up against a then-in-their-prime Farrah and Jaclyn, she was way out of her league by most accounts. And, I will never, ever, forgive that show for failing to full treatment Farrah. What a wasted opportunity. As for the movie version, I've never found Drew Barrymore hot by any means, and compared to Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu, she's a pig. I sincerely doubt it, but maybe they'll go by the Hispanic version that was the polar opposite of the dumbass American model. They went after the two hot angels when it was DiD time, NOT the "ugly" one. |

It seems to me, respectfully, that we shouldn't assume so much going in regarding this potential new series, and its DID potential. This show will have entirely new producers, entirely different writers, and it takes place in an entirely different culture than the 70's version did. Outside of the basic concept of three attractive women investigating mysteries, we have no idea how they'll go with this. It could be fun and cute and have some good full-treatment scenes, like She Spies did (albeit mostly in its first, better season), or full-treatment scenes could be as few and far between as they were on Charmed. The thing is, we just don't know. It was ridiculous that the original Charlie's Angels show didn't have more gags, but in the 70s, shows could get away with being ridiculous. I doubt a 2010 Angels show would be anywhere near as cheesy. It also likely won't be as outlandish as the recent films, because the budget is much smaller for TV. We just won't know what the "angle" will be on this until (or if) it comes out. It could be as lame as the Nancy Drew adaptations we've seen, where a character known to get gagged consistently in print never gets gagged at all. It could be like the Superman adaptations we've seen, where Lois gets gagged regularly (the '50s Adventures of Superman / Lois & Clark) or almost never (Smallville, of course). I'm going to stay positive about this and not assume anything. Sure, current-day female protagonists will never go back to the "damsel in distress" days where T.J. Hooker was off saving Stacy Sheridan. But that doesn't mean they can't still get gagged on a regular basis. For me, any show that features three attractive women investigating mysteries every week is something that seems like a shoo-in for at least a scene or two every year, and hopefully more. You never know with Hollywood, but I'm keeping my hopes up. It would be great to get a show with some "fun" scenes again, and not the constant death-and-terror scenes of the Criminal Minds / Without A Trace / CSI sort. I understand not wanting to get too excited about a new Angels so as not to be disappointed, but I think a realistic expectation isn't necessarily a negative one here. |

Okay I will do my best to help here because actually the episode in question was updated on imdb.com recently. To answer the question on why this never posted is either oversight, laziness from some us regulars or a lack of interest because of the age of the DiD's. In my case I was lazy despite the fact it's an excellent scene. The other thing is it's the longest episode title in history: "Please Note We Are No Longer Accepting Letters of Recommendation from Henry Kissinger" The two actresses in question who get the treatment are Isabel Keating and Lisa Anzelmo. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1031388/fullcredits#cast |

Vince Grey wrote: > dumbass American model. They went after the two hot > angels when it was DiD time, NOT the "ugly" one. I don't think 'gag the ugly one' is actually part of the Angels formula. I think the formula is just that three attractive women solve crimes (unfortunate that Drew cast herself as one of those 'attractive' women, agreed). If they just stick to that formula, some ropes will probably be involved. And last time, back in the seventies, CA pretty obviously inspired Partners in Crime and Dangerous Curves, which both produced great scenes. So I would hope this pushes TV in a new direction, as well as turning out to be a decent show (and agree that both of those hopes may be unrealistic). |

Tuesday November 17 16:05:35 2009 Does anyone remember a scene like this? |
This is an old scene description from the video page - my kind of scene exactly, but the name of the show is still a mystery. Has anyone ever seen this? Must have been on comcast sometime. A guy is trying to steal some papers from this woman (Kind of like a "Sting" take off - both groups of people are scamming each other). He sweet talks her into letting him blindfold her, the next scene shows her tied to the bed hands over head, still blindfolded. He starts to leave and she says something to him so he looks around and picks up a white napkin and lays down next to her and procedes to cleave gag her. Then he leaves and she is left struggling. It is a latin scene and she is a stunning blonde. |

And you're correct, I don't think it's in the database. I'll put an entry in if someone doesn't beat me to it. Hope this helps. |

I didn't see that Nite Owl had already answered your question (I guess I should read all posts before posting one of my own!!). And thanks Nite Owl for the ID of the second damsel. I just had her listed as "unknown". There still isn't an entry in the database so I'll go ahead & put one in. Holy cow, what an episode title!! :-) Hope there is enough space in the area you are supposed to enter the name of the episode! |

I also remember they had a 3 week "full treatment streak" in the first season. One episode where they kidnapped the brunette beauty. The following week, they drug and kidnap all 3 Angeles. Then for good measure, they have guest star Daisy Fuentes come onto to the show as an angeles alum. Of course, she gets kidnapped by a baddie and get bound with wire and a nice tape gag she mmmphs under. |

It was an enjoyable experience viewing the scene, despite the obvious looseness of her bonds. Her gag seems to be masking tape. |
