Via Google, I found a Variety article entitled "ABC closing in on 'Charlie's Angels'" (URL below). It states Josh Friedman ("Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles") will write and executive produce. Drew Barrymore is mentioned only in the general "Charlie's Angels" background info. I also checked several other articles, and they reference &/or rehash the Variety piece.

(SS, ol' buddy, I think the article you found is just a snarky blogger who doesn't know what he's talking about.)

Anyhoo... Variety says abc is only "close" to ordering a pilot, so if a new "Charlie's Angels" happens... it's gonna be a while.

Okay, I may have spoken too soon. AIN'T IT COOL NEWS says "Drew Barrymore is also producing"... so I guess she *is* involved... to some extent.

I don't know if it's great stuff, another hands in front, whats up w/ that this season? Seems like every scene is hands in front. Anyway cute dark haired chick wearing a black leather jacket w/ hands tied in front and white cleave gag. Link to a scan of the image. There isn't anything else in the preview video so no reason to post it too.

These shows try to be realistic right, almost to an extreme degree, yet I can't think of one instance, or imagine one, where in real life someone would gag someone then tie their hands in front. My guess is it's almost never happened, I wonder why these super realistic shows do it all the time, I mean, there has to be a reason, right, like comfort of the actor?

Well, if you come across any images of Rosie O'Donnell or Kathy Bates please let us see!

Indeed. Call me when the lead actress gets the full treatment.

Television isn't the movies. If they want a series, they could easily cast it, shoot a pilot, and get it going by Fall 2010. Which would be fine by me, as long as it is not CSI: Angels, with plenty of (un)exciting he-tied-her-up-before-he-killed-her-as-you-can-see-in-this-flashback scenes.

My understanding of the "pilot system" is that producers pitch an idea and if the network likes it, they front a fraction of the money required to shoot the pilot. Development begins, writers and a cast are attached, and things shift into high gear. The pilot episode is shot, and offered to the network. *If* the network likes the pilot, they purchase a number of episodes. These days, that can mead anything from six to twelve or thirteen. Oh by the way, the producers and their backers paid for most of the pilot, so if it doesn't get the green light (and almost all of them *don't*), it's almost usually money and time wasted. There *is* slack in many parts of the process, so things *can* get onto the roster for the next season in only a few months, but it usually takes at least a full year. So... we're both right... only I'm *more* right. ;-) (It's a joke, son.)

EastEnders
Anyone know when (more or less) this episode aired? From the database; nice little scene Raffish has on his site right now:

Title: Eastenders
Medium: Soap Opera
Actress: Tamzin Outhwaite

Description: Episode: unknown

In this british soap opera, melanie(Outhwaite) is kidnapped by a man who has a grudge for her boyfriend. she is shown tape gagged in a couple of scenes along with her hands bound in front of her. Lasts a good couple of episodes.

Yeah, about a year sounds right. BTW, there were internet rumours that Carlton Cuse was producing a Charlies Angels pilot after the success of the first movie. That never materialized. So I am not getting my hopes up too high. But I certainly hope tv action lightens up soon, with some show with some hot women solving crimes, nothing too serious, no torture, plenty of bondage...
