| âDeadly Strangerâ by M.C. Summer Not to be confused with the Peg Kehret YA kidnap thriller of the same name (which also features a b/gâd damsel.) Two girls (Kelly & Lauren) go out on a ski trip and pick up a hitchhiker (Marshall) who in turn kidnaps them. Holding a passed out Lauren (drunk) hostage in a motel, he sends Kelly out for supplies, including sneaker laces. She canât find any, so she gets long leather boot laces. Once Kelly gets back, she realizes theyâre to be used to tie Lauren & her up with, so Marshall doesnât have to watch them all the time. He ties her feet and hands behind her back, and then he does the unconscious Lauren the same way. He threatens Kelly with a gag, if she gets noisy. Once he is in the shower, Kelly bunny hops all around the room, looking for something to warn people that they were kidnapped, before returning to the bed. They are untied the next morning. Lauren has no idea she has been abducted as Kelly plays it cool. Eventually, Kelly points out the rope burns on Laurenâs wrists to prove Marshall is bad. OK, Iâm a gag snob, but this book is firing on all cylinders to be a classic. All the original elements are here: two kidnapped girls being punished for looking for fun, sending one of them to a store for binding materials, a gag threat, the other partied so hard, she isnât even aware she is kidnapped and tied up the night before, as she flirts with him the morning after. At the motel, he decides he needs a night away from the girls after all their failed escape attempts. So, he ties them up with their hands behind, ankles, and elbows and knees together. He finishes things up with some athletic sock stuff gags. Once he leaves, they struggle conversing in gag talk and manage to pull them out from their mouths with their bound hands. They scream, but no one is around. As they work on each otherâs knots Marshall comes back to fool around with Kelly. Before he passes out, he asks âDidnât I gag you?â They stay still throughout the night. When he wakes up in the morning, he unties them so they can clean up. At yet another motel, he brings in fashionable Laurenâs bag in too look for better gag material. Itâs a nice touch of what is to come. He decides to step out again and ties the girlsâ wrists to the headboard of the beds. He then takes some knee high socks and cleave gags both of them. He leaves them to watch soap operas on a television. Kelly struggles about, as Lauren sits calmly rotating her wrists until the lace pops free. The night manager knocks on the door that Kelly flirted with before, so Lauren quickly ungags her, so she can alert him. He comes in to rescue them, but is shot as Marshall returns. Marshall spirits the girls away in the car, for the big climax. BUY this book on eBay or Amazon! Itâs the best Young Adult kidnap thriller I ever read. You will not regret it. The girls have the right amount of pluck for you to root for them all throughout their ordeal. |

| Cynthia Brimhall was b&g in her first credited role: "Hard Ticket to Hawaii" (1987). There are probably several other Playboy Playmates and models-turned-actress who were B&g in their first credited role. |
