She almost manages it, however, rubbing the tape against the barbed wire of a fence she stumbles into. Then at about eighteen minutes, she's shown being driven in the SUV again, this time belted into the seat with her hands behind. She complains about her wrists still being tied and the kidnapper responds by trying to wipe the blood off her face. During the ensuing struggle he loses control of the vehicle which lands on its passenger side in a water-filled ditch. Once he climbs out, she begins crying for help as the water rises; there's one good shot from above of her struggling as she's nearly submerged. At 27 minutes her captor is shown leading her along a dirt road by a chain locked around her neck. She's barefoot and complains about the discomfort caused thereby. Finally, at about 52 minutes, there's a sequence of her stretching across the floor of a mountain cabin, still barefoot with her left ankle chained (although to what isn't shown), reaching for a phone to call for help. |

| It's a faux gag. It's meant to appear as a blindfold/gag combo, but it's really just an outfit. She can see and speak perfectly. |

It may be a classic, but like many classics it (Day of the Triffids) will come across as quite dry and unexciting to most readers today I'm afraid. It's very British, in the pre-Harry Potter sense. I'm not trying to insult the book or anyone who likes it. Just one guy's opinion. There's a brief sequence where the hero frees the bound woman, and then a briefer sequence where she tells of how she was captured. That's it for restraint interest. As for the rest, certainly a good book, but from quite some time ago now, which needs to be taken into account by anyone planning to read it. |

| Brian'skteers everywhere might want to keep an eye open for the forthcoming CHARISMA CARPENTER movie "Vivid". The URL below is to the Official Site. It is here that Susan’s living nightmare unfolds..." ------- There's no evidence that Charisma gets "the business", but, as you can see from the second thumbnail, *somebody* gets it good! (although it's probably a snuff scene). :-( See the site's "Stills" for a much larger version. They didn't bother identifying the actress, and other than Charisma the cast is unknown (to me, that is). |

Charisma is now a mature but still sexy damsel. I love those frighten looks she has in some of those stills. Maybe there is a plot twist where someone close turns out to be a baddie. Charisma is knocked out unsuspectedly by him/her and the next scene shows her bound and gagged about to meet a fate similar to the unknown camper girl who has the full treatment in the still. Just thinking out plot scenarios out loud. Thanks again! |

You overestimate Lady Gaga's ability to speak and/or "sing". Her music and singing have been known to cause people to gnaw off their own limbs in order to get their mind off the sound... Admittedly Wikipedia isn't always the most accurate of sources, but they indicate that Lady Gaga was born with the name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. Unless the WP editors haven't been paying attention to her article (highly unlikely) I suspect this information is accurate. She's also done some other faux-bondage in the mainstream. A celebrity gossip magazine had a shot of her tied up in some Xmas lights a few months back... |
