It's most likely to be late this week (maybe Friday?) or the first episode next week (Tuesday Feb. 16). At least, that's what I remember reading...

That lime did stuff her mouth nicely. It seemed like she really couldn't speak.

"Dangerous Calling"
Just a heads-up: straight-to-DVD release, coming out this week @ Blockbuster. The female lead apparently gets bound, cleave-gagged and thrown in a river (there's a quick glimpse of the hero pulling her up from the water towards the end of the trailer, you can clearly see she's gagged).

Trailer @ IMDB linked below.

By itself, a cloth tied over the mouth isn't a very effective gag, unless it is tied VERY tightly over the mouth, or there is something stuffed in the damsel's mouth.
It is perplexing that a lime was stuffed into Cameron Diaz's mouth, when cloths and bandanas should've been readily available on the movie set, especially if a scene in which an actress would be gagged was being filmed. Perhaps she was gagged in this manner deliberately? Would a competent prop man arrive on a movie set without the requisite materials with which to film a scene?

She gets chloroformed Wednesday in her hospital. Unfortunately, I don't think she'll get bound or gagged.

I always kind of figured that, since the film was more-or-less a black comedy of sorts & the bondage scene was done a little tongue-in-cheek, that maybe to add a bit of a humerous element to the scene.
However, the shot of the lime is so fast...you only see it as she spits it out & I actually had to use freeze-frame the first time I saw it...that this seems a bit unlikely.

I wonder about those things sometimes. Like Rebecca Balding's scene in THE SILENT SCREAM or Kate Mulgrew's scene in A STRANGER IS WATCHING. Both gags had some mouth packing (an OTM gag in Rebecca's case & a tape gag for Kate), but in each case, the packing is seen for just a super brief shot as the gag is removed & she spits it out (in fact, Rebecca's mouth stuffing can really only be seen using slo-mo or freeze frame). Little details like that are a bit puzzling. Kudos to the director (or whoever) for adding it, as it added realism to the gag, but as there is no real focus on it, and there are SO MANY gag scenes out there (especially OTMs) with no packing and still no sound from the heroine able to be heard, the director could readily be forgiven for omitting that little detail (kudos to the actresses too, as the packing must have made the gag more uncomfortable, and for a detail that is so fast it's almost missed).

I agree...in fact, it's almost painful watching it!

Funny (and no pun intended), I like effective gags as much as the next person and get (mildly) irritated by the incredible array of "ultra loosies" you see out there, but Naomi's gag (and Susanne Lothar's in the original) are SO realistic and face- and mouth-distorting that they really do nothing for me...they certainly aren't "pretty" gags like some moderately tight cleaves. Neither are favorite scenes of mine whoever realistic the gagging.

However....I am fully aware that the makers of these movies were striving for realism (heck, let's face it, if I were to gag someone in a "realistic", non-consentual situation & did not care about the captive's personal comfort, that's how I'd gag them!) and did NOT design the gags used to appeal to my particular likes & dislikes! :-)

Scenes like that (especially the lime in Head Above Water) always kill me a bit, because as great as the scene is, no way they would have used a lime as a gag for a shot that quick unless they also showed her being gagged with it earlier, then cut it out. It's just way too random. Maybe it only exists in a script or on a storyboard, but that scene is out there somewhere, it has to be.

Hey OutlawUK, great site, I went to it for the first time today.
Question though: there were 2 actresses, Noel Francomano ("Crazy Love") and Cheryl Lyone ("Back Alley Butcher") whose movies were not even in the IMDB (I went there to see if the movies were available on DVD or video). Are you sure about those scene IDs? Both scenes sound interesting & I'd like to find them.
Incidently, one movie listed in the IMDB for Cheryl, RUN BITCH RUN! does look promising..anyone seen this one?
Thanks, rex

This whole scene has to qualify as one of the greatest of all time. The bondage is very tight and believable, the struggling intense, and the escape desperate. I can watch this one over and over and over and over and never tire of it. Only wish it were longer.
