Thanks for the explanation; now I have some idea why the captors used rope to gag the young women, instead of bandanas, a more logical choice of gag. Despite their adherence to their traditional method of restraining captives, they certainly had no compunctions against using guns, which they obtained from trade with white men. I'm surprised that it never occurred to the Apache kidnappers to tear off some strips of cloth from a shirt or shawl and tie them between their female captives' teeth. Wouldn't these strips of cloth make more effective gags? |

Wouldn't these strips of cloth make more effective gags? There was some discussion at the time as to what they were trying to do. The rope halter may have had more to do with stopping the women biting than in keeping them quiet or stopping one woman from untying another with her teeth. The man seem very well armed and dont seem to be trying to be inconspicuous maybe keeping the girls quiet was not the intention. |

This british supernatural series from bbc3 delivered another full treatment scene ,in this week's episode ,following on from a full treatment last week. In a flashback scene to the sixties the vampire character is forced to take a young attractive brunette hostage in her flat .She is bound hands behind onscreen to a bookcase ,and soon after onscreen cleave gagged with a thin red and white scarf . In the next scene she escapes and you see her remove the gag ,she's recaptured and bound hands in front to the foot of a bed ,no gag this time . It's a quick scene for us gag snobs but a nice one nonetheless. |

Cameron Diaz in Head Above Water with he mouth stuffed with a lime under an OTM gag seems like it could be effect even though OTMs aren't the most secure. I'd love to see some sort of a commentary/behind the scenes to find out why the directors decided to stuff a lime in her mouth. |
