Recent Unsure? Entry [#7995]
Record number: 7995

Title: Sergeant Rutledge
Medium: Movie
Actress: Constance Towers (?)

Description: A classy, classic John Ford western with a terrific handgag scene for Constance Towers. The scene is broken up by a brief trial scene wherein one judge says, "Sgt. Rutledge had his hand pressed over your mouth."

________

This is Sergeant Rutledge (1960)

Found a plot review, and appears Constance Towers ? is one of two strong possibles, and the favoured of the two in situation described:

"John Ford's courtroom drama, his only film featuring a black person in a central role, stars Woody Strode as Sgt. Braxton Rutledge, a buffalo soldier accused of murder on an Arizona cavalry post in the 1880s. In an atmosphere charged with racism, Lt. Tom Cantrell (Jeffrey Hunter) is to defend Rutledge against the accusation that he raped a young woman and murdered her and her father, an officer. Under the questioning of prosecutor Captain Shattuck (Carleton Young), Mary Beecher (Constance Towers) reveals that on the day of the murders Rutledge had earlier saved her life when she was attacked by Mescalero Indians. But Cordelia Fosgate (Billie Burke), the judge's dithering wife, claims to have seen Rutledge emerge from the victims' quarters after hearing gunfire. For Strode, a member of Ford's stock company, this was his first leading role and perhaps the best of his career."

Figure the handgag came during the attack, as in "Shh! Quiet or we'll get shot" etc, other than on someone just spotting something.

What do you think here?

You've got it in one. I coulda sworn this entry was already in the database -- 'cause I thought I dumped it in. Hmm. Anywho, I've updated the entry.

Little Dragons [#667]
I actually saw clips of this movie from another website (actually, someone posted them for me temporarily as a favor), but backstory aside, here's the skinny:

The movie's PLOT is about the kidnapping of a girl and three kids who suck at karate trying to save her, so there's a lot of material here.

The girl is first seen outside lying on the ground tied hand and foot and gagged. She mmphs frantically as one of the boy heroes tries to rescue her, but he is surprised and knocked down. One of the criminals then picks her up and carries her away in his arms.

She is next seen being carried over the criminal's shoulder, in a cave, and placed down on the ground. Close-ups show tha she is clearly cleavegagged with a gag tied between her teeth. She is then picked up again and carried over to another location in the cave, and her gag is pulled out.

Later, the boy tries again to rescue her, only to be quickly subdued (told you he sucks at karate), and we then see both of them sitting on the ground, hands behind back and feet together, being cleavegagged. They are then picked up and carried over the villain's shoulder, but the villain carrying the girl shifts her position so that he is now carrying her in his arms. While he does, she slips out of one of her sandals in close-up, leaving a foot bare.

We next see the two sitting in the villain's shack, with the girl's gag tied around her neck, and her one sandal still missing, leaving her foot bare. Who cares about the putz, but for those who do, he's ungagged as well. Both struggle, and try to turn their hands toward each other to untie each other. The villain walks in again and picks up the girl, carrying her over his shoulder out the door, and because of that, we get some views that make it more evident that she lost a sandal.

She is carried to a car and laid on the backseat, where she puts her feet up in the air, apparently to avoid having the door close on them. Next time we see her, the boys are beating up on the villain, and one of them ungags her.

And that's the WHOLE scene, or should I say, sceneS!

Addendum: Little Dragons [#667]
One more detail - before the girl is carried out of the shack in the final part, the villain puts the gag back on her, but this time, it is not a cleave. It is over-the-mouth.

Thanks. Btw, she is regagged right before being picked up out of the cabin, that is, before we see the closer view of her feet while being carried over the shoulder. Instead of right after, where you put that sentence.

Oh yeah, Sally's character is named Carol, and the boy is named Woody, apparently (caught his name in one of the vidclips).

The scenes are played up for drama, at least by the standards of a kid movie.
