Scorcher update
Just updated the entry for "Scorcher" (#7969) with the correct actress Rayne Marcus. That comes straight from the film's closing credits. The imdb lists the daughter name as being "Tara Beckett" and being played by another actress when in reality "Tara" is a minor character who's killed early in the film. The daughter's name is "Faith Beckett". Fleshed out the description as well.

The only reason I posted this here is that I noticed that someone had corrected the entry with the imdb actress information. Figured they probably hadn't seen the film.

Correct, what I did. Thanx

"There are (or were) dozens of 'em out there. :)"

Are you saying there's roughly that many?
Or that I went out headhunting on that many?
I'll have to look into this as well.

You realise the latter makes me appear like the Grumpy Moderator here, so's won't be able to snark on him anymore if true huh?
Keep that in mind when you reply
Thanx

Sorry, my friend, the tone my message was aiming for was jocular and humorous, hence the smiley emoticon. I know I've added bunches of English "translations" over the years -- but I really don't know how many are still around. I just noticed that the one had been deleted, that's all.

English Translation of Foreign Titles
I also prefer to add the English translation of foreign (in my case, mostly German) titles. If no one objects, I'll continue to do so. Just thought this might give non-German readers a hint what the show/ episode is about.

In some cases there are other reasons, too. I found an entry for a German TV movie called "Hour of The Lion" where the author mentioned the movie was not in the IMDb under this title. That's because it was a literal translation of the German title "Stunde des Loewen". I left the English title, under which it was posted at first, in the Db after the German title.

"the tone my message was aiming for was jocular and humorous,"

Oh heck, there's plenty of humour to snark on with this topic huh?
Favourite is how the translate English titles different in French, but translate/dub the script exact??
You may see this with the 1995 Bold & Beautiful soap scene if the DiD-Clippers show the escape-recapture at the dock?
She runs up to some fella asking for help, (in dubbed French), and he blows her off with roughly not understanding English??
[A few of the fellas that received the scene found that humourous]
Favourite to snark on here,
is French dubbed- US references to Paris or France. One with Victor had a recent plot like that, roughly translated back, fella says, "you'll have to learn French" and lady replies, "She took French in college and figures enough to get by", etc.

Things like this really make translating the titles different seem silly huh? :)

I'll put the link for CFTM channel's air-sched if you just want to snoop on it and catch any proper English titles by chance?
They put the US title along with the French title, something wish the other channels would do as well.

CFTM Channel Link

In the top left hit the Cinema link, which will take you to the air-sched.

"I know I've added bunches of English "translations" over the years -- but I really don't know how many are still around."

Awhile back, went through the entire DB and made the entries uniform. Chances are, many of your older ones have been edited.

It'd be a good idea to indicate that that's what you're doing, rather than giving the title used here in the States and possibly elsewhere ... if you're not already doing that.

Thinking about it abit David,
if the translations were in the Title slot I probably did go headhunting on them?

Were some fellas that insisted on putting the episode titles in the Title slot, even after had put all uniform in the Description slot. So for a period there was deleting extra, and possibly nailed a few of your's as well??

Going to look into this.
