Her hands are tied behind her back, and there's several loops of rope around her arms and upper body, below her breasts and around her waist, knees and ankles, with one strand running from the torso ropes to her knee restraints. Later, Alan Ladd finds her in the back of a closet, and carries her to a bed, where he ungags her. My notes have a start time of around the 42' mark. I believe that's without ads. I'm not sure if there's any grabbing scene preceding the above. |

Record number: 5954 Title: Quills (2000) Medium: Movie Actress: Kate Winslet, Diana Morrison Description: At the beginning of the film, Morrison, as a French noblewoman in one of the Marquis de Sade's stories, has her hands tied behind her with a leather thong as a prerequisite to being laid beneath the guillotine's blade, while the author (Geoffrey Rush) narrates off-camera. Then, at about an hour and 18 minutes, Madeleine (Winslet) is shown standing ungagged, tied by her outstretched wrists to a frame in the courtyard of the insane asylum where the Marquis is confined. Before a large crowd of onlookers, and as the asylum's superintendent (Michael Caine) and others look on approvingly from an upstairs window, she's whipped as punishment for smuggling de Sade's writings out of the institution. Madeleine is also hand-gagged several times during a struggle with a patient who attempts to rape her during a performance of a de Sade play about midway through the movie. On the DVD's commentary track, author Doug Wright, who wrote both the screenplay and the stage play upon which it was based, makes some rather interesting comments about the whipping scene. He notes that Winslet was wearing a plastic prosthetic back which was capable of raising welts and bleeding, but this effect was cut from the final release because it was considered too graphic. While assuring viewers that Winslet's back was protected during the whipping, he also points out, "Nevertheless, when it was over, she was wincing a bit from the pain." |

Record number: 14951 Title: Disappearance of Alice Creed Medium: Movie Actress: Gemma Arterton Description: Early in the film, she's wrestled into the back of a van, already hooded, and her hands cuffed and feet are taped together onscreen. She's spirited to the kidnappers' specially-prepared room, where she is bound spreadeagle to the bed (legs tied with rope, hands cuffed). After she is bound, the kidnappers cut her clothes off her, then after taking pictures of her nude form for the ransom demand, reclothe her in a track suit. The pictures are shown on a computer screen twice a few minutes later. In various scenes she is given water, allowed to use the bathroom (with a bedpan), fed, and untied from the bed to make a ransom video. Throughout the movie she is unhooded, ungagged, re-gagged, and re-hooded. She's uncuffed a couple of times as well. She is knocked unconscious in one scene by cutting off her air, in another by injection. After the latter, her hands are cuffed behind her, she's wrapped in a sheet, and carried to a van. She's taken to another location, where she's cuffed hands apart to an iron gate of some sort and unhooded. She's shown in this position several times, and near the end of the film she's ungagged, bound to the gate trying to reach the keys to her cuffs with her foot. It's actually a stage scene. She's wearing a low cut dress and looks very nice. The scene last for 40 seconds and the gag comes off after 20 seconds. |
