Record number: 4870 Title: The Big Noise (1944) Medium: Movie Actress: Veda Ann Borg Description: Laurel and Hardy work as janitors at a detective agency, but pass themselves off as private investigators. They are hired to protect an inventor and, after a series of misadventures along the way thwart enemy agents and sink a Japanese sub. Overall, one of the weakest of the L&H features. Near the end of the film, Mayme (Borg) is captured by spies, tied to a chair (wrists to chair arms, ropes around her waist tieing her to the chair back) and tight detective gagged with a white cloth. Pretty tight bondage for a comedy, although the seen is pretty short. Also a guy alert, but the good looking lady is squarely in the center of the screen. |

Medium: Movie Actress: Kate Winslet, Laura Linney Description: Scene 1 occurs about 65 minutes (1:05) into the movie, lasts a couple of minutes. You see a videotaped image of Laura Linney's character, nude on her stomach on a kitchen floor. Her hands are handcuffed behind her and she's gagged with duct tape and suffocating from a plastic bag sealed over her head. Ends badly. Scene 2 occurs about 30 minutes later, approx. 95 minutes (1:35) into the movie. This is with Kate Winslet, playing a reporter, re-creating the death as part of her investigation. Kate's character is fully clothed. She tapes her mouth with duct tape, then ties a bag over her head and handcuffs herself. Her reporting partner is standing by to tear away the bag in a couple of minutes. Some good closeups of Kate's face. Kate starts struggling and mmmmmphing, and her buddy tears off the bag. Good closeup of her gagged face for a second or two after the bag comes off. Scene 3, which is less than 10 minutes later. We get to see Linney's character tape her own mouth and then put the bag on. Scene ends quickly from there. At the very end of the film is a sort-of Scene 4, in which you see slightly more of the videotape with the body of Linney's character still handcuffed, gagged and bagged. |

Medium: Movie Actress: Qi Shu aka Shu Qi Description: About 15-25 minutes into the movie the transporter hears a lot of mmmphing from the back of the trunk. A few moments later he opens the trunk and Qi Shu's tape gagged face pokes out, the rest of her body in a bag. He puts a small hole in the tape so the Qi Shu can drink through a straw. When he takes out a knife for making a hole in the tape there is a lot of mmphhing. Short time later she is let ouf of the bag and untied so she can go to pee. She reaches to take the tape off her mouth but the transporter says "do you need your mouth to pee?" so she leaves it on. She escapes, he follows and recaptures her, puts the tape back back over her mouth, ties her wrists in front and carries her over his shoulder to the car. Five minutes later she is shown tied to a chair hands behind, ankles together and tape gagged. She's tied like this again in the car and immediatly next on the street. Good struggling. Next they are at the transporter's house. He asks her a few questions and regags her twice when the answers are what he wants to hear, nice mmpphing then. Decent length scene. |
