Damn fine series, I got > it on DVD for Christmas one year. Actually the show didn't totally disappear from the U.S. airwaves in the 1970's. When CBS picked up "The New Avengers" and ran it in late night they also aired "The Avengers" as a companion piece. Two nights a week if I recall, once after the new show and another night as a stand alone. I was just a kid but I vividly remember staying up extra late during the summer months to catch the Diana Rigg episodes. Up until that point I'd never heard of the show. I think CBS showed repeats of "The New Avengers" as late as 1979 as part of the "CBS Late Movie". The original series (Rigg and Thorson episodes only) was offered in syndication in the eighties and I know it ran on several PBS stations paired with "Dr. Who". After about 1983 I never saw it again until the early 90's A&E run where of course we finally got the early Honor Blackman scenes as well as the Diana Rigg episode "A Touch of Brimstone". Great series with Rigg being one of my all time favorite damsels. Wish they do a re-release of the DVD's since the ones that were released a few years back are hard to find and quite pricey. |

And "Perils of Pauline" > is the name most would probably associate with the image, > though I'm not sure she's the first. The first to get the track-ment on film I think was Helen Holmes. She got it twice, first in the "Hazards of Helen" (1914) and later in "The Railroad Raiders" (1917). The Train tracks are mis-attributed to "Perils of Pauline as is the buzzsaw, if memory surves me. "Perils" was the first blockbuster of the serials and Peal White was the biggest of the stars. But she didn't have the best scenes, that honor probably should go to Helen Holmes, or Arlene Prettywho was also in the "Woman in Grey" (1920) or Ruth Roland, all of whom were prolific early serial actresses. For the honor of Woman who launched a thousand kinks, I would have to go with Batgirl. The Sixties were truly the golden age of Bondage on TV. With shows like Batman, Avengers, Get Smart, Girl/Man from UNCLE, and The Saint, these shows warped the consciousness of thousands. And Batgirl was their fetish Queen. Rich Of course if Taylor want to run for that prize, I'll allow... |

Pat Powers wrote: >what do you think are the most famous DiD scenes among movie fans My vote goes to the original King King with Fay Wray, based on the countless number of times it's been re-run on TV. It's stayed popular because transcended the genre of sci-fi movies and become a kind of legend in terms of the timeless storyline. |

Very correct sir, the warrior generation probably saw it as just a TV version of the not to be taken seriously escapist spy and detective serials of the 30s and 40s and to us baby boomers it was campy and not meant to be taken seriously. The few bondage scenes were just happy and rare surprises. |

Skel wrote: > (unsigned poster) wrote: > > There is a slight possibility that Jessica may get > > something for the new Spy Kids flick. > > Hmmmmm. Let's hope. It's not impossible. It's written and directed by Robert Rodriguez, who co-wrote/co-directed Machete, which got Alba gagged at least (if only briefly). Then again, Rodriguez omitted the gag (from the comic) when he directed Alba in Sin City. I also can't recall any gags from any of his other films. He directed one of the Four Rooms segments, but not the one with the great Jennifer Beals scene. |

What we know about this movie? Nicole Kidman and a home invasion plot, could be interesting. |

Alas, nothing. The closest we get is a scene where one of the kids wraps a laser whip around her 22-year old cousin Carmen's legs and swings her around so she can punch out the bad guys. Later on, Marissa, Alba's character, Carmen, and Juni get trapped in a giant hourglass. Marissa's up to her shoulders in the glass' quicksand-like numerals and there's a quick shot of her shrugging her shoulders trying to get free. As an aside, the film's far from great but it's not the total stinkeroo that all the critics are saying it is. |

Punk wrote: > does anybody know where i can find an old movie called > kill kill overkill (AKA twisted fate)? I remember that one! When it first aired, I couldn't believe I was seeing such a flagrant bondage-fest. I later saw a brief clip from it, later, and the constant blather of the lead males got on my nerves. Still, some of the scenes must have another fatales and few enough dim remarks to work... As far as I know, though, it was never sold on DVD and may never have been on VHS. I may have a clip or two on my other hard drive, but since I'm in the middle of transferring files following a major crash, it may take a while to dig them out. Meantime, others will likely have them handier than I. |

Unfortunately I copied the scenes in SLP so the quality is not the greatest. But the scene is awesome. Especially for duct tape fans. If you can find out, buy it. |

I don't know where you find this stuff but Lucille Ball was an early crush for me (along with Goldie Hawn). She looks fantastic; who knows what other kind of work she would've done if she hadn't been cast in "I Love Lucy". Not that I'm complaining, she had at least a couple of scenes on that show. |
