Movie Star News collection slated for auction
Movie Star News in New York City has closed and sold its entire inventory to a Las Vegas collectibles company, with the collection to be sold in a series of auctions in 2013.

While its famed Irving Klaw collection with original Bettie Page loops and prints is beyond this site's topicality, Movie Star News also had the most extensive collection of B&w and color glossy prints of Hollywood movie and TV b&g scenes from the 1930s - 1980s for sale.

I remember buying several MSN mainstream bondage and actress glamour shoot prints, just as my way of saying thanks to the people who likely did the most to support our interest in mainstream bondage during the 1950s - 1970s (until Bondage Life's "Bound for Hollywood" column began).

I know that concept sounds rather foreign now to those who will save a few $ buying from a gigantic online warehouse 3,000 miles away rather than a brick-and-motor store in their own neighborhood employing local workers, but I'm hoping that one of "us" will buy the Hollywood bondage collection.

That is sad.

They were just featured on 'Antiques Roadshow'.

Paula's son showed one of the experts a suitcase of the clothes Betty Page wore in some of her iconic poses.

Maybe its because of the American TV off season.
When the season restarts in a month or so new scenes will bring life back to this site.

Rizzoli and Isles
Doesn't do anything for me, but Jane/Angie Harman stuck her wallet in her mouth and some people might like that.

That brings back a lot of memories. Whenever I got to NYC I always visited. Paula was still around then and her nephew always allowed me to go through the file drawers for movie stills which in those days were all we had (pre DVD,pre VHS). I have not been there in years and now its a little too late but I'll always remember them.

Re: Movie Star News collection slated for auction
I'm sorry to hear that it will no longer be there. I have fond memories of driving over to the City in about '76 or '77 and buying my first photos of Betty Page and other black and white glossies of movie scenes. I still have some of them. It was a great old place with a rich history. Fare thee well Mr. Klaw...

Re: Movie Star News collection slated for auction
There is an episode of the show "History Detectives" that was just on within the last few days. Not sure if its a repeat. Someone had a negative of Betty and they went to MSN to try to determine if it was real. Irving's Son was there and he opened up a suitcase of his Father's that contained "props" from the Betty shoots. (Most of you probably know that most of the original negatives were burned to prevent Senator Kefauver from putting Irving in jail) I was waiting for him to pull out a ball gag or something, which, by the look on his face, he possessed, but he only showed her shoes. I would have loved to see what else was in there!

They did show a couple of bondage shots of Betty and another model sprinkled throughout the show.

Point of Order?

I believe Movie Star News discussion would be "topical" since most of their business was mainstream movies and damsel in distress scenes. Moderator? Ruling?

Also, the thing in the box is her new bedframe.

(1) Jane had to replace her old bed 'cause it reminded her too much of the replica bed her stalker/kidnapper handcuffed her to last week.

(2) Once she assembles the frame it will be suitable for spreadeagling either Maura or herself (or both).

Corazon Valiente
Angela (Adriana Fonseca) gets chloroformed and kidnapped in the last 10 minutes of tonight's episode of this Spanish language soap. She isn't shown in the promo for tomorrow's episode, but there could be a b&g scene. "Corazon Valiente" airs at 8:00 p.m. CT on Telemundo.

Summer doldrums, Olympics, too many reality shows, less soap operas and not enough action/adventure shows on anymore. We can't really expect scenes from Storage Wars/Pawn Stars/Swamp People etc.....

The cable networks are in full swing however, the july 22nd episode of Longmire had a lady tied to the railroad track with some wire i think, didn't see a gag but it was dark. Had to let the train run over the wire securing her foot to the track to free it. Scene was near the end. Episode title was "An Incredibly Beautiful Thing".

On the season 4 premiere of Warehouse 13 on SyFy there was a quick shot of one of the leading ladies wrapped up in a large coil of rope which then dropped off her as Artie had just activated some sort of time travel device. He made a comment about her being tied up. I think it was a time travel back to the season 3 finale which also had a scene like the one described. Some sort of magic rope. Another lady was also caught up in the rope in sorta a double damsel type thing. The season 3 scene was from october 2011. It was cute but brief. Actress was Myka played by Joanne Kelly.

Neither scene was really outstanding IMHO but just throwing some stuff out there for discussion/non-discussion.

You can add another scene from tonight's Perception to the total, but its another waste of time. Elderly couple tied and duct tape gagged on a couch for the end of the show. Only of interest if you're interested in Ma & Pa Kettle in bondage.

And the summer doldrums have at least 2 more months to go...

The other actress is Jamie Murray, and the good news is... SPOILER ALERT! ...as time was reversed, H.G. (Jamie) is no longer dead!

(However, Jamie has a role in the new SyFy series "Defiance", so we might not see her on "Warehouse 13" ever again... or not.)

The rope was part of the rigging of the Marie Celeste, which explains what happened to the crew.
