Don't mean to un-earth and beat this dead horse again (and again) but how different were the scenes in the book (if at all)? I don't mean the length so much as technique and things that may have happened while they were bound. And I don't care about the gags!

It's the final episode. Poor Marsha comes in for some very rough treatment. Classic scene, evil psychotic villain.

Just one old man's opinion.

IMHO the U.S. TV scenes from the 1960 - 70's, at least the best ones - are far superior to what is out these days. (I WOULD agree that some foreign scenes are/can be better than scenes from the States, but they're much harder to find, at least for me (I don't get Spanish/Mexican TV where I now live, for example). I never saw the P. Kirk or P. Castle scenes you mentioned, but I'd say, that in addition to the recent old TV scenes written about here, what has been better (and longer) than Amy Thompson's IT TAKES A THIEF, L. Marta's THE ROOKIES, Yvonne Craig scenes (BATGIRL, MAN FROM UNCLE, S. Powers's GIRL FROM UNCLE, lots of others if I start thinking about them enough???

And, BTW I think MANY TIMES the old scenes we see now in various collections (like Chivalry's) or on TV syndicated TV reruns are often shortened or cut, to make additional time for more commercial advertisements. Like I'll never forget the SUPERMAN scene with Phyllis Coates (the one with the cheap figurines) that was trimmed... when she was b/g in the back seat of the car that was stopped by a cop. For some reason, b/g scenes are often the first minutes that end up on the cutting room floor...

(I'd also agree that soap scenes CAN be very good... but not like the crappy garbage one that was on TV the past week or two).

Rookie Blue possibility
Could be something coming up on the ABC show "Rookie Blue." The July 26 episode, called 'The Girlfriend Experience,' has Charlotte Sullivan's character going undercover as bait to catch a serial killer. Then, the description for the next episode, "Out of Time," say Andy (Missy Peregrym) and Gail are assaulted at Andy's loft and Gail is abducted.

Looks like Marlene favela will be bound to a tree this week as the series is wrapping up. No sign of a gag but we can hope. There was a picture posted a while back with what looked to be the scene. Should happen this week.

Re: Surprise scenes
A surprise scene for me was in the (2011) movie: Conan the Barbarian.

Conan had taken Rachel Nichol's character captive, and had tied her hands behind her back (around the 54:00 mark).

She starts carrying on about how she won't be held captive, how no man will ever tell her what to do, etc. and Conan rips a piece of her (sleveless) robe off and "stuff gags" her with it (she continues trying to talk through the gag). He also holds his hand over her mouth. It was a surprisingly decent scene.

Also, she gets handgagged a bit later as she sleeps aboard a ship (during a covert kidnapping attempt by the movie's forces of evil). Another OK scene.

Hopefully it'll produce a good scene for Charlotte. Missy had a great one last year and Charlotte definitely deserves a good scene. Wouldn't mind Missy getting another one either.

Darn..probably my favorite episode too. Great mainstream chair tie and gag.

Gal left tied to chair. She bites a pencil and uses it to phone someone to mention that they tied her up. Fast forward to my recording but looks like no gag.
