And I'm 99% sure that an episode of "Alfred Hitchcock presents" had a girl tied to a log heading for a saw in the little introductory part before the week's actual story began, but I don't think it's in the DB. |

Katrina Bowden had a nice classic sawmill-peril scene in Tucker & Dale Vs Evil. No gag tragically but I hope that oversight will be rectified in her upcoming horror film The Orchard ;) |

The Hitchcock episode is Heart of Gold, posted a link at video. I do love those old perils. "Perils of Superman" is a favorite train track, and The Avengers "Epic" is a great buzzsaw |

On May 19 2019 (unsigned poster) wrote: > Other early ones I recall included Hawk, Bracken's World, > so usually it was of the "see them just once variety." I wonder, actually keep hoping, that the all time great episode of Bracken's World - when Karen Jensen was b/g for the whole one hour - will someday show up on one of the oldies TV channels. I recall back in the peak days of VHS buying and trading, there was some absolutely dreadful copies of that, and tons of other old telecasts, making the rounds 20 plus years ago. Those were truly awful!! In contrast, yesterdays TV rerun of Cimarron Strip was excellent video quality (and, that was originally from 1967). BTW, I do remember very specifically that the Bracken's World episode was broadcast twice, the second time during summer reruns later that same year. |

On May 19 2019 (unsigned poster) wrote: > I’m a fan of the old-fashioned melodrama. Share your favorites if you’ve got any. Melodramatic situations are definitely my favorites. Here are some excellent examples of such. Title: Adventures of Superman (1952) Episode: "The Perils of Superman" (6.12) Damsel: Noel Neill A revenge-seeking criminal gang abducts the Daily Planet staff. The lead baddie, who states that he has a fondness for old-style movie serials, does the following: Editor Perry White is lashed supine to a log heading for the buzzsaw. Lois Lane (Noel Neill) is bound and gagged and tied to the railroad tracks. The brakes and steering on Jimmy Olsen’s car have been sabotaged. Clark Kent, suspended by his wrists, is being lowered into a vat of boiling acid. Superman saves everyone, of course. But how Kent escaped death, the lead baddie can’t figure. Title: The Avengers (1961) Episode: "The Gravediggers" (4.2) Damsel: Diana Rigg Mrs. Emma Peel (Diana Rigg) is investigating an eccentric millionaire who has his own private railroad on the grounds of his mansion. As this is a small scale, narrow gauge train, Emma is not tied across the tracks in the usual manner, but parallel to them, her arms tied above her head to either track, her ankles similarly tied to form a modified spreadeagle, and cleave gagged. While John Steed races to the rescue, music from a silent era Nickelodeon theater is heard. Title: Beach Blanket Bingo (1965) Damsel: Linda Evans Singer Sugar Kane (played by a then 23 year-old super hot Linda Evans) is kidnapped by a deranged lunatic and taken to his sawmill. She is tied hands to front, gagged with a huge red cloth OTM, and lashed supine to a log heading for the buzzsaw. Frankie Avalon and the beach party gang, along with Eric von Zipper and his motorcycle rats, effect rescue in comic fashion. Title: Adventures of Superman (1952) Episode: "Superman's Wife" (6.09) Damsel: Joi Lansing Buxom blonde Joi Lansing (as a policewoman undercover as Superman’s wife) is taken to a bridge that the criminals intend to destroy by means of dynamite. The criminals bind her wrists to the railing and depart. She struggles furiously against her bonds while the fuse burns down. Will Superman get there in time? Of course. He’s Superman. Title: Dudley Do-Right of the Mounties (1952) Episode: every episode During the opening credits of every cartoon, Snidely Whiplash is onscreen tying Nell Fenwick to the railroad tracks. Dudley rides by on his horse. It takes the noble but obtuse Mountie several seconds to process the scene. But he does, and effects rescue. |

On May 20 2019 (unsigned poster) wrote: > Joi Lansing Buxom blonde Joi Lansing (as a policewoman > undercover as Superman’s wife) Ms. Lansing and her two pair got the full treatment in much better scenes in a bizarrely different old fashioned melodrama. She was threatened by a man in a gorilla suit in Hillbillys In A Haunted House. With a good cast of horror movie regulars, there was also a bunch of country music artists, including Merle Haggard. BTW, that is fine too, Gagster. Thanks again! |

Monday May 20 20:56:21 2019 Looking for a scene...That I have! |
I'm looking for a scene I already have, but I can't remember what it's called so I can't find it. It's from one of those crime procedural shows, I think it's one of the CBS ones, and the clip is around 6-7 years old I think. In it a woman, one of the investigators not an innocent "victim," is being tied and gagged by the baddie. It's a shady/dark house, lots of shadows, and she's tied to an old fashioned wooden chair with wooden slats in the back, her hands bound both behind her and to the slats. She's brunette with bangs and hair tied back, wearing a white blouse with black vertical stripes. She struggles a bit and then the good guy hero comes into the house, shushes her, sneaks up, unties her from the chair and then they go after the baddie, who's upstairs looking for someone he's not supposed to have access to. That's all I know. If anyone could help I'd appreciate it. |

Is it Sasha Alexander on NCIS? |

There is a trailer being shown on TV of this movie which apparently turns violent. A very quick snippet MAY show this large black woman sewing some gal's mouth shut to keep her quiet. |
