I haven't a clue where these titles came from -- When I threw these in the database based on the Discussion Page caps, I couldn't track 'em down. They were just too good to pass up, especially since he ID'd most of the actresses. I don't know where we go from here. Rely on the kindness of strangers, perhaps? |

One thing to remember here is that the literal translation is not always the title used when they release a chinese film in english if there is even an english version to these films. The info he gave for peeping tom, private eye blues, black blood and a hearty response all seem to check out at lest as far as the movies existing with the actresses mentioned. I ordered the Joey Wong movie A Hearty Response as soon as I read his post. I'll let you know about the scene as soon as I get it. |

Where do we go? Good question? ;)
Over on Brians Anything Goes Page awhile back, was trying to sort out a similar situation once. Taking photos of video, and getting them posted for ID'ing. There was some problems though, One being that nobody responded that was able to recognise non-Roman characters/letters. (Big one) Other, Yahoo trashed Frank J's attempts to assist me. <G> The Anything Goes Page one is alone in itself, as an 'Adult' rated Japanese porn, didn't figure it fit Discussion guidelines, so left it over there. But it does relate to the problem huh? <G> What I'm thinking of doing?, is working on getting even 'Box cover photos'. I could either put a note in DB entry, referencing a post date with the photo link? The fellas could search it up, go looking for it that way? Or better, your 'kind stranger' comes along that recognises the characters and assists. <G> Anyway, this has been a bugger/peeve of mine for about 3 years now in trying to alert to Asian scenes. On this, Bless the Philippine Islanders, they use Roman letters. <G> |

Saturday May 18 02:10:26 2002 Re: Asian Movie Hassles- Mainstream Ex |
Record number: 535 Title: Mang nu 72 xiao shi (1992) aka Retribution Sight Unseen; Three Days of a Blind Girl Medium: Movie Actress: Veronica Yip Description: A beautiful blind Chinese girl is abducted and terrorized by gangsters. She has several scenes wearing a polka dot minidress and bare feet. She starts off in a wrists behind her back and cleave-gagged, then the gag is removed and she is tied to a bed and later she is left bound on the floor. ____ Here is a better example. Rented a movie totally in Chinese characters, that is very similar to this description a few years back. Lady wearing a green dress with white polka dots, only one psychotic primarily involved? and I seem to remember her squirming around B&G'd, and fumbling into her kitchen. Where she sawed herself free with a Saran wrap box. Other than this, pretty sure it's the same movie. Thing was, trying to describe/relate this to the fellas here back then was a bugger, and still is. Why I was considering a link-with photo referencing system for the fellas here. You have any ideas, or input on this? |

While it would be a great way to ID a film, I'd think it would seriously tax the amount of space Brian's website uses or would lead to a bunch of broken links. |

Now that I've had my second cup of coffee, the word I was searching for was "bandwidth". IMHO (based on virtually no experience working with websites) pictures chew up a lot and I don't think the payoff would be proportional to the expense. |

Do you mean links or caps in the database itself? Then no, we don't want anything like that. Otherwise, you'll have to explain more about what you mean. |

> Why I was > considering a link-with photo referencing system for the > fellas here. "Do you mean links or caps in the database itself?" No. More a reference line in entry for a discussion post with a link to video photo cover. "Otherwise, you'll have to explain more about what you mean." I'll use CFMT channel's Commonwealth movies as an example, as you've seen them. Cop Shop Babes, City Of Desire, etc. Sometimes they have English sub-titles and title. Other times the sub-titles and title are in what? Cantonese? So have to muck around the Hong Kong movie pages to try and ID everything. Frank J, Fuzz and the others have pretty much capped everything I've asked, and there's posts on Discussion with links to their sites with the caps. I've posted with links to Asian sites with English title mentioned along with photo of box cover in Asian characters Idea was, mentioning these posts in bottom line of entry. |

Most of the cappers have had problems with servers of recent. Like David says, probably a few broken links due to this already. So still working on a better ID'ing method for these. |

Saturday May 18 16:57:39 2002 El Cholo |
I downloaded the scene from Kerhop's Kaptures and noticed some details weren't included in the database.
When the first evil woman is captured by the heroes, she is gagged and has her hands tied behind her while sitting in a chair, VERY swiftly. Also, there is a close-up of the bonds on the second evil woman they bind, close-up of her gag being applied from behind, her hands behind bound, and her bare feet being bound. In all, an awesome scene! The entry this is for is #6777. |
