The tape is taken off and put back on several times and is finally ripped off so she can taunt the paperboy. Funny scene overall with a cute actress (even if her boobs are sagging). |

Record number: 405 Title: Zombies On Broadway (1945) Medium: Movie Actress: Anne Jeffreys Description: Jean LaDance (Jeffreys) is abducted by a zombie henchman of a mad scientist, Dr. Paul Renault - played by Bela Lugosi, of course - and awakens to find herself strapped to an examining table and detective gagged with a white cloth. The evil doctor plans to inject her with a serum that will turn her into a beautiful blonde zombie until her two male compatriots bumble into Dr. Renault’s clutches and he decides they'll make better subjects for his experiments. He then consigns Jean to a hidden room. A little later, she starts screaming for help, gets tied up and gagged again for her trouble. She unties herself on-screen and cold-cocks her captor to escape from the room. The first scene starts about the 36:45 mark and lasts for about 45 seconds with cuts between Jean, Dr. Renault and Joseph, Renault’s non-zombie henchman. There are a number of nice close-ups of Ms. Jeffreys and the director does a nice job arraying her hair on the guerney, the better to highlight her gagged face. At about the 51:00 mark, Lugosi orders Joseph to bind and gag the screaming heroine again and we see him enter the hidden room and put a cloth over her mouth. At the 52:00 mark, we see Jean sitting on the floor, detective gagged, ankles bound and wrists tied in front. She soon slips her bonds, knocks out the henchman and makes her escape. This scene lasts about 20 seconds. |
