Record number: 395 Title: Excess Baggage (1997) Medium: Movie Actress: Alicia Silverstone Description: Emily Hope (Silverstone) decides to fake her own kidnapping. The opening scene takes place in a parking garage at 3mins; she first wraps clear packing tape around her ankles, then gives herself a wraparound gag by wrapping the tape three times very tightly between her teeth, cleave-style. She finishes by cuffing her hands in front, then hides in the trunk of her car. Unfortunately for her, the car is stolen by an unsuspecting thief, who later discovers her in the trunk at 11mins. Here we get two brief close-ups of her gagged face as she mmpphhs in frustration, but not before uttering a shy, gag-talked "Hi...!" Bemused by this, he closes the trunk and leaves her in there. At 13mins she manages to wriggle her way out of the trunk, but not without some effort to follow; first she bites down on the tape gag to cut it free from her mouth, rips the remainder of it from her hair (grimacing in pain the whole time), unwraps the tape from her ankles, then produces the key to the handcuffs which was hidden in her boot. Once completely free, she places the cuffs behind her back for safekeeping (they look quite fetching against her butt, in a cop-like way) and hides amongst some other cars. When her unwilling captor returns at 18mins, she goes ballistic and goads him into a fight. After some reluctant scuffles with her, he leads her into a bathroom. Here he quickly cuffs one of her hands to a bathroom pipe and again leaves her alone. At 21-23mins she becomes very bitchy (in a sexy, bratty way) and constantly whines at him and his accomplice, "Are you gonna uncuff me? Are you gonna uncuff me?" whilst throwing stuff at them and repeatedly kicking a mirror. A rather lighthearted scene! Still not knowing what to do with her, he takes her back to the car and tells her to get in the trunk so that he can drop her off somewhere unseen. She adamantly refuses, instead offering to sit in the passenger seat with a ski mask over her head (turned back-to-front) to block her vision. He agrees, but cuffs one of her wrists next to the gear stick just to be on the safe side, as well as telling her to keep her head down. Another humorous captor/bratty captive exchange ensues, where she uses her free hand to briefly pull off the ski mask to smoke a cigarette, much to his annoyance. After driving some distance, he pulls off her mask at 27mins and lets her out by the side of a road at 32mins. Lighting is good throughout, with mainly full-body views and only a few brief close-ups of Silverstone gagged. She wears a black/grey/white camo-pattern blouse over a tight-fitting white top (pokey nipples on show), tight black trousers and black high-heeled boots. |

Record number: 6955 Title: High Crimes (2002) Medium: Movie Actress: Ashley Judd, Amanda Peet Description: Around the 50' mark (with ads), there's a brief shot of Amanda Peet tapegagged during a home invasion. Scene lasts only a few seconds. I couldn't tell how she was tied (the intruder may have been disturbed before he had time to secure her). About nine minutes from the end, the real killer ( I won't give away the twist) grabs Ashley Judd, firmly clamps his hand over her mouth, and drags her into the house. He then ties her arms behind her back and hogties her. The hogtie is not tight (her knees not bent much), more incidental as the same length of (telephone?) cord used to tie her wrists behind is also used for her ankles. She is able to roll off the couch where she was tied and across the floor towards a gun that was dropped during the final fight. She manages to work her hands free just in time to get the gun and save herself. The scene is dark and the cuts are quick. She's wearing a bathrobe and white socks. |

Record number: 15927 Title: And Soon the Darkness (2010) Medium: Movie Actress: Unknown, Odette Yustman (aka Odette Annable), Amber Heard Description: This remake of a 1970s movie about girls being kidnapped by slave traffickers in Argentina, this one opens right off the bat with an unknown with her hands duct taped and tied in front with rope attached to a wall. Scene lasts maybe 30 seconds. Based on the credits and some of the storyline involved in the movie I believe the actress is probably Gia Mantegna but am not 100% sure. The next scene about an hour in involves Ellie (Yustman). She's laying on a mattress with her hands duct taped in front of her. She ends up being cut free by Stephanie (Heard). Scene lasts about 5-6 minutes, though the camera spends much of the time focused on Stephanie trying to sneak past a guard to free Ellie. Heard herself gets caught several minutes later. There's a short scene of her with her hands handcuffed in front. She gets chloroformed. After a scene change we see her in the back of a truck with her hands duct taped in front of her and with a cloth blindfold on. The blindfold is taken off very quickly. She's put on a boat by the bad guys but manages to knock one of them off with her hands still duct taped and dives into the water and gets the duct tape off that way. The boat/water scene is rather dark. No gags in any scene. |
