| Title: King Kong (1976) Medium: Movie Actress: Jessica Lange Description: Rather disappointing remake, with Lange much more loosely tied to the posts with vines than Fay Wray was-in fact, it seems she'd have had little trouble slipping out of them in reality. They are wrapped around her arms near the elbows, and aren't winched up as in the original. Owing to the improved technology available for this version, however, there are many more and longer shots of Lange in the ape's hand, where she screams and struggles (and delivers some of the most sarcastic dialogue imaginable). The abduction scene is about 50 minutes into the film. About an hour later, after Kong has been brought to America, the scene is re-enacted for a large crowd, with Lange tied just as loosely with silver garlands. |

(2000) Medium: Movie Actress: Jennifer Garner, Marla Sokoloff Description: In this scene played for comedy, Wanda (Garner) and Wilma (Sokoloff) are taken hostage by a group of people in a garage. They're brought into the scene bound and gagged with bubblewrap, hands tied in front. Quick scene but some nice medium-length closeups of Garner and Sokoloff and some excellent mppffing and head turning by both. Action occurrs in final 30 minutes. |

The girls try to leave and Tommy Lee Jones handcuffs one of the gils to a chair, the other 4 try to make a run for it and end up flexcuffed to the stair landings. Very short scene about 1/3 into the movie. |

| Title: Troy (2004) Medium: Movie Actress: Rose Byrne Description: She plays Briseis, who is shown about fifty minutes in sitting bound with her wrists behind her around a pole. Achilles releases her. Although the scene where she is bound is very brief, throughout the rest of the movie her wrists are shown with the bruises and even the scars left by her bindings, suggesting that she was bound very tightly and cruelly for a prolonged period of time. Alas, we don't get to see it. Still, a very unusual sight in most movies. |

| Title: Sahara (2005) Medium: Movie Actress: Penelope Cruz Description: Exactly 60 minues in (without commercials), Penelope has her hands tied behind her back. Only one or two brief glimpses at the restraints, otherwise most of the scene is her standing there with her hands behind her back. She shares the scene with Matthew McConaughey and Steve Zahn. 80 minutes in, she is grabbed by the bad guys and led off. We see her next 91 minute in, where she has her hands tightly tied together in front of her with white rope. The bad guy forces her to get into a helicopter, then pulls a gun on her as Dirk attempts to rescue. She finally jumps from the helicopter and there is a bit more fighting before she is knocked out. Some good closeups during all of this. She's wearing a blank tank top and light pants. All over by 98 minutes. |

| Title: Por un beso Medium: Soap Opera Actress: Natalia Esperon Description: In the last (2000) episodes of this Mexican soap, Natalia's characted is abducted by an Evil Man, who draggs her into an underground place, an abandoned mine or something. There she is gagged (mouth filling with white cloth, followed by an OTM gag with a dark green bandana) and tied (arms slightly-few inches-above her head, ropes from each hand meeting about one meter above her head). She quickly rids herself of the gag, and spend the rest of the scene shouting messages to the nearby hero-instead of untying herself. She could easily reach the knots tying each wrist with the fingers on the opposite hand. The above telenovela is scheduled to end on monday, which according to the above description, the above scene should occur. I'm posting an alert for Friday in case something shows at the end of the episode and hopefully to get a preview of the scene. |
