Record number: 1034 Title: Quo Vadis (1951) Medium: Movie Actress: Unknown, Deborah Kerr Description: In the second part of the Christian persecution sequence which begins at about two and one-half hours in, the victims are tied to crosses which are set afire. There is a brief close-up of a female extra screaming as the flames rise around her. The final part of this sequence features Kerr led out into the arena and bound to a stake to serve as a target for a bull that will be allowed to kill her if it gets past a male wrestler. Her Roman-tribune boyfriend (Robert Taylor) is shackled to another pole next to Nero and his wife in the stands, and the sequence is intercut with scenes of him struggling to free himself, making it somewhat difficult to edit. |
