Channel: ThisTV
Record number: 271

Title: Single White Female (1992)
Medium: Movie
Actress: Bridget Fonda

Description: At some point after the first hour, Ms. Fonda is tied to a chair with tape at the wrists, elbows, knees, ankles, and upper body, and tapegagged. It's a lengthly sequence.

She's later released, other than her ankles being taped together, to use her laptop.

Finally, she is on her back on the floor. Tape encircles her ankles, knees, and arms, and pins her wrists to her side. Again, she's gagged with tape.

Title: The Corpse Came C.O.D (1947) aka The Corpse Came COD
Medium: Movie
Actress: Joan Blondell

Description: So-so comedy/mystery with the emphasis on the former, unfortunately. Two reporters are out to scoop one another on why a very dead body was mailed to a rather surprised man. At about 70 minutes in, Joan confronts a hood who has been searching an apartment. A bit later, the male reporter comes into the room, and overpowers the hood. Hearing noise coming from the closet, he opens it to find Joan sitting on the floor tied hand and foot, and gagged with a white cloth OTM. He pulls down her gag and pulls her to her feet so that he can free her hands.

The hood takes off, with the male reporter in pursuit. Joan has to bend down to untie her own ankles before she can follow.

Gilligan’s Island “How to Be a Hero”

Time: 7:30 PM Eastern
Channel: TV Land
A true classic. It made a profound impression on me growing up and ranks as one of my top 10 scenes even after all these years.
Record number: 68

Title: Gilligan's Island
Medium: TV Series
Actress: Dawn Wells, Tina Louise, Natalie Schafer

Description: Episode: "How to Be a Hero" (1.24)

Gilligan is depressed over his failure to rescue Mary Ann from drowning-- the Skipper saves them both. Later, Gilligan sees a headhunter on the island, but no one believes him. However, the other castaways decide to disguise the Skipper as a headhunter and allow him to "capture" them so that Gilligan can become a hero. Unfortunately, Gilligan overhears the plan.

Meanwhile, the real headhunter captures Mary Ann, Ginger and the Professor. The Howells find the threesome tied hand and foot to stakes. Frond (!) gags cover their mouths, and despite mmpphing for all they're worth, they are unable to warn the millionaire and his wife that the headhunter is behind them. It's a brief scene, but it features a long shot of the three of them-- Mary Ann is wearing her trademark short shorts, and Ginger is wearing a form-fitting dress fashioned from some item from the Minnow ("S.S. MINNOW" is prominently displayed on the skirt) in the background.

In a later scene, two more stakes have been added, and Gilligan discovers the five captives tied up. The Howells have not been gagged, but they are unable to convice Gilligan that this situation is anything other than a trick. The real headhunter returns, and Gilligan "plays along" in a mock fight scene. During the shenanigans, there is a close-up of Mary Ann, and several shots in which she is prominently featured, writhing at the stake. (Ginger remains only in long shots.) Finally, the Skipper (disguised as a headhunter) shows up, and Gilligan realizes the truth in time to send his foe into a handy campfire. After everyone has been untied, Mary Ann can be seen holding a loop of the rope.

This is from the first season of black-and-white episodes, subsequently colorized, and begins around the fifteen-minute mark.
