McMillan and Wife
Day: Friday March 07 2014
Time: 3:00 PM Eastern
Channel: Cozi
Record number: 93

Title: McMillan and Wife
Medium: TV Series
Actress: Susan Saint James

Description: Episode: "The Fine Art of Staying Alive" (2.6)

Sally is kidnapped from an art museum around five minutes in (a door opens and she's pulled through). A couple of minutes later she's carried in a sack into a boat's cabin and set down on a couch. When the sack's pulled down, she's shown gagged (triangularly-folded hankie over mouth packing) and bound hands behind. Her ankles are tied as well, although I don't think there's a shot of them. She's ungagged but left blindfolded; then regagged.

The above scene lasts until about the ten-minute mark. Around 33' in Sally makes her next appearance (aside from flashbacks connected to the clue she was able to give Mac over the phone about her whereabouts). This bit lasts about three minutes; she's not gagged in it IIRC, but remains blindfolded and bound.

About the 63' mark she's shown gagged as before, as well as bound and blindfolded, as she struggles to free her hands. Unfortunately, this brief scene was cut from the HALLMARK airing I saw. Around 71' in she manages to slip her bonds, removes her blindfold, gag and ankle ropes, and makes a break for it.

Wouldn't you know that the first person she stops is one of her captors (since she was blindfolded, she didn't recognize him, naturally). She's returned to the boat, and the other baddie binds her ankles again while his cohort chloros her. No gagging or further binding occurs.

Shortly after, as they head out of the harbor with Mac and the harbor captain on their tail, the kidnappers toss the sacked Sally overboard. Mac dives in and saves her, as one would expect.

Open House
Day: Friday March 07 2014
Time: 1:40 AM Eastern
Channel: Encore-Suspense
Record number: 14995

Title: Open House (2010)
Medium: Movie
Actress: Rachel Blanchard

Description: A cheap direct to DVD forgettable movie dealing with a brother and sister psycho twins serial killers with a stupid plot premise (they are preying on open houses, set up to live in them for a while and kill whomever they please). The brother, for no apparent reason, falls for Alice, the owner of the house (Rachel Blanchard) and decides to “keep” her. He hides her from her sister in a basement hideout so she won’t kill her. We see Alice tied with her hands behind seemingly with a chain (bindings are not show) and a chain around her ankle secured to a post. She is cleaved gagged and kept in the hideout for seemingly many hours. When sis is out he takes her out for the usual feeding, bathing, bathroom, carrying her chain, psycho babbling scenes of this type of captive-predator formula. There is a failed escape attempt scene ending with a good beating with a belt while unbound. She is seen gagged and tied again watching TV together with Mr. psycho in another scene. She is wearing jeans and blouse.

Beware, this DVD cover shows Ana Paquin and Stephen Moyer as if they were major characters. They have no more than 5 minutes screen time. The film was directed by Paquin’s brother. Rip-off!

Deadly Spa (2013) aka Zephyr Springs
Day: Friday March 07 2014
Time: 8:00 PM EST
Channel: LMN
Medium: Movie
Actress: Tracey Fairaway; Amy Pietz

Description: Absurd movie with daughter (Tracey) dragging her mom (Amy) to a desert spa, which doubles as the lair of a crazed cult leader.

At approx 80 minutes into the movie (basic cable version, including commercials), Tracey decides to leave, but is chloroformed as she walks out the door. She is then set up for a brainwashing session by being tied to a post, hands behind her back, with another rope around her neck. She endures some bad dialog from the cult leader, and then is left to be bombarded with flashing lights and loud noises.

Amy goes looking for her missing daughter, and eventually finds the shed which doubles as a prison. She manages to cut Tracey free, but is immediately captured herself as Tracey runs away. Amy is then put into the back of the cult leader’s van, with her wrists tied in front of her, and is gagged with a white cloth cleave. After driving around for awhile, they manage to actually find Tracey, and after a bit more chloroform, she gets dumped in the back of the van also, sans restraints.

Cult leader then drives to some kind of abandoned building, where the apparently dozing Tracey is left in the van, while the bound and gagged Amy is dragged inside. He takes his time as he ties her sitting against a post, which gives Tracey time to wake up and grab a bow and arrow. She flashes the van’s lights and honks the horn, which brings the cult leader out of the building, so that she can put an arrow into his shoulder. He runs back inside so that he can grab Amy, and use her as a shield. Some silly action ensues, which finally results in Amy being freed by Tracey.

The action is as silly and as badly directed as it sounds, but the gag for Amy is long overdue. The ropework on the restraints is a joke, and the tightness of the gag varies with the camera angle. It’s never particularly tight, but it is photogenic in many of the shots.
