Record number: 2955 Title: Adventures of Superman (1952) Medium: TV Series Actress: Noel Neill Description: Episode: "Clark Kent, Outlaw" (3.8) Clark concocts a scheme to infiltrate a gang of jewel thieves by allowing himself to be fired and publicly humilated from The Planet. The thieves are happy to recruit him, once they discover his knack for cracking safes. Lois and Jimmy follow him on a caper to try and turn him away from a life of crime and get captured. Clark convinces the crooks to drag them back to The Planet building, where the two reporters can be killed in a fiery accident, and the building torched at the same time. Lois and Jimmy are loosely bound back to back to chairs with twine (which encircles their bodies, but their hands aren't tied, leaving Lois able to maintain a tenacious grip on the strap of her purse with her white-gloved fingers) and loosely detective gagged with handkerchiefs while Clark sets the fire in a chair in Perry White's office. The camera shoots the pair from in front of Lois, which effectively diminishes Jimmy's presence, and enhances Lois' brief struggles as her captors escape. Good news for the good guys: it turns out that the chair is fireproof and Clark secretly triggered the fire alarm as he and the crook fled the building. This was the first of the show's episodes shot in color to contain a scene. |

| Mala Powers on the rack. |
|
Record number: 388 Title: Flight of the Lost Balloon (1962) Medium: Movie Actress: Mala Powers Description: Great scene where Mala Powers gets stretched on a rack, to get her sweetheart to tell where Cleopatra's treasure is hidden. He knows, but doesn't care if she gets tortured, which is far superior to "Wait, I'll tell you. Just let her go." Long buildup, where the villain describes the rack to a fearful Mala. Another man enters and attacks the torturer. When the good guy wins, he unlocks the other man first before releasing Powers. |

| Jack The Giant Killer |
| Day: Friday January 16 2015 |
| Time: 12:30PM Central |
| Channel: TCM |
| Good day for scenes on TCM. Here's another one. |
|
Record number: 9230 Title: Jack the Giant Killer (1962) Medium: Movie Actress: Judi Meredith Description: At the 43 minute mark (no commericials), the lovely Princess Elaine is the unconscious captive of the evil wizard Pendragon with her wrists chained over her head. After we see about ten seconds of her plight the camera pans to the evil wizard concocting a spell. At the 44:15 mark, the wizard awakens the princess and hypotizes her with a sacred orb, at which point her arms fall magically from the shackles one by one. This scene lasts about thirty seconds. At the 67 minute mark, Princess Elaine, her mind under control of Pendragon, is chained to a wall of a ruined temple as part of a plan to trap Jack. We see the evil minion Garna shackle her wrist to the wall and, after suitable dialogue, Jack release her wrists. What makes this short scene special is the evil glee the now mind-control princess exhibits as her arms are chained and the obvious effort she makes to change her attitude from willing conspirator to damsel-in-distress. This scene, though, only lasts about thirty seconds. For most of the film, the cute, chestnut-haired Princess Elaine wears a simple, low-cut bodice type dress. There are no gags in either scene. |
