| While browsing IMDB for upcoming films came across this Euro-thriller from the producers of the recent Suspiria remake. A couple get caught up in a dangerous conspiracy. Alicia Vikander is the female lead so hopefully will find herself in the right kind of peril at some stage. Something to keep an eye on. Alicia is also reprising Lara Croft which always has possibilities too but Born To Be Murdered has real potential for the Swedish beauty. Thrillers/horrors deliver more often than not... |

Here are some examples: Title: You'll Never See Me Again (1973) Damsel: Jess Walton At the end of this TV-Movie, Ned Bliss (David Hartman) is in the woods calling for his kidnapped wife, Vicki Bliss (Jess Walton), who lies bound and cleave-gagged in the gully below him. She manages to rub the gag off against a tree trunk and call for her husband. Title: Acapulco H.E.A.T. (1998) Episode: "Code Name: Cult Zero" (1.19) Damsels: Alison Armitage, Lydie Denier H.E.A.T. agents Cat Pascal (Alison Armitage) and Nicole Bernard (Lydie Denier) have been captured. When next they are seen, each is lying on her back in a twin bed. Each is bound in a full spreadeagle, white cord having been used to tether all four of their limbs to the bedposts. Each is gagged with a black cloth OTM. After they are left alone, Nicole manages to shake her OTM loose, while Cat pulls hers off with her left hand (just a little too much slack in those tethering lines). Cat then starts to unknot her left wrist binding with her teeth. Title: Police Woman Episode: "The End Game" (1.01) Damsel: Dierdre Lenihan In the premier episode of this Angie Dickinson series, Joanne McCormack (Dierdre Lenihan) is taken hostage by bank robbers to assure their escape. At the end of the first act, the robbers’ panel van comes to a stop and Joanne - now bound hands to front and gagged with a knotted cleave - is unceremoniously tossed into a trash heap. As the van drives away, Joanne pulls off her gag and starts loosening the knots with her teeth. Title: Adventures of Superman (1952) Episode: "The Jolly Roger" (4.13) Damsel: Noel Neill While exploring a tropical island, Clark Kent, Jimmy Olsen, and Lois Lane (Noel Neill) are captured by modern-day pirates. At one point, Lois and Jimmy are tied, hands behind, OTM gagged and blindfolded, then seated back-to-back and bound together. Clark is bound hands to front, OTM gagged and blindfolded, and seated apart from Lois and Jimmy. When the pirates leave the area (a fact which no doubt Clark uses his X-ray vision and super-hearing to verify), Clark snaps his bonds and removes his gag and blindfold. About this time, Lois shakes her gag loose and calls for Clark. Clark mumbles in response, maintaining the illusion for a few seconds more. Then he has to run off and change clothes. Title: The Three Stooges: Restless Knights (1935) Damsel: Geneva Mitchell In this medieval-era comedy short, the queen (Geneva Mitchell) has been abducted on the orders of the ambitious prime minister. She is held in the lower levels of the castle, bound hands behind and OTM gagged with a black cloth. Moe, Larry, and Curly eliminate the henchmen guarding her (in Stooge fashion, to be sure). About that time, the queen finally manages to shake her gag loose and call for help. Title: Rawhide Episode: "Damon's Road" Part 2 (7.08) Damsel: Barbara Eden Saloon girl Goldie Rogers (Barbara Eden) is abducted, bound hands behind, stuff gagged, and deposited into an open trunk on her back. When she is alone, she spits out the stuff gag and manages to stand up and get out of the trunk. Title: The Three Stooges: Of Cash and Hash (1955) Damsel: Christine McIntyre Gladys Harmon (Christine McIntyre) is silently handgagged and pulled inside a creepy mansion. When next she is seen, she is sitting in a chair, wrists bound to armrests (a single rope runs from one wrist to the other). Also, a rope cross-crossed in front of her torso and a waist rope secure her to the backrest. Her legs are out of sight below the camera frame. She is OTM gagged with a white cloth. This comedy short is a remake of “Shivering Sherlocks” (1948). At the end of both versions, Gladys is free of her bondage, but the 1955 short has additional new footage that explains how she got free. In the new footage, Gladys is seen sitting on the floor, the overturned chair beside her. Onscreen, she unties her leg bindings, then unknots her OTM. Title: All My Children Episodes Sept 30 – Oct. 7, 1991 Damsel: Kelly Ripa Hayley Vaughan (Kelly Ripa) is tied hand and foot and cleave-gagged with a purple scarf and held in a wine cellar. She escapes the wine cellar by kicking off her shoes. Then she walks over to a nail protruding from the wall to remove her gag. Title: Port Sinister (1953) aka Beast of Paradise Isle Damsel: Lynne Roberts In this very weird (and very low budget) SF/horror romp, Dr. Joan Hunter (Lynne Roberts), a female scientist, is bound (hands behind, ankles together) and cleave-gagged. She is seated on a rock ledge by her captors and left behind as they gather up their loot. Once alone, she starts struggling furiously to escape her bonds or shake her gag loose. She fails. But then, when a giant crab appears (I told you it was a weird movie) she re-doubles her efforts and shakes her gag loose. She screams, and her hero arrives just in time. Title: Barbarian Queen II (1992) Damsel: Cecilia Tijerina Bratty Princess Tamis (Cecilia Tijerina ) is captured by rebels. Her captors dress her in rebel attire, tie her wrists behind, cleave-gag her with a white cloth, and put her on a horse. When the rebels’ attack on the castle begins, Tamis slips out of the gag, and off of the horse. We get several scenes of her running through the castle with her hands tied behind and the gag still around her neck like a necklace. |
