You've received some information, whether you choose to believe or not. All we are getting now is speculation and non-productive complaining. Nothing further until someone here sees the movie.

So before Mr. Mod closes this speculative discussion, here’s what I think. I guess the answer from the reddit guy is still vague, because he said “nope” but at the other sub-thread he mentioned that Lady Jessica and Paul are taken captive, which is definitely the thopter scene, and CMIIW based on the graphic novel that I shared months ago (or last year? I forgot) the scene should’ve happened there. I don’t know how else the scene will be, but based on the Jessica’s trailer there is a scene that she stabs someone while sitting in what looks like a thopter (the one with a dim green light and very brief, you can search it on utoobe). So again, I hope that the reddit guy kinda forgot or misunderstood the question somehow, but still I won’t let my hope high as usual.

Sorry miss the additional line here, what I mean is that she’s pretty much awake at that point, if that’s really the thopter scene.

I'll admit it: I'm fine with them. They seem to emphasize the cheekbones a bit, and I'm a sucker for great cheekbones (which might be why I prefer cleaves).

Years ago, the first time I really remember seeing one, was on a clip for a German movie called, I think, The Tunnel (not the British-French series). Short scene but memorable for me.

Also, if you think about it, a standing captor gagging a sitting damsel might be inclined to tie higher.

I do agree, though, the Stephanie Powers scene was not as good as it could have been because of that angle. I think it had more to do with the thinness of the cleave (higher cleaves that are thicker look better to me) and the fact the gag had to climb a mountain of hair. Made it look odd.

Anyway, loved the LMN scene. Just wish the gag had been a bit tighter.

Cross-referencing it with the database that seems to be it. I guess the little monkey is named Cheetah lol. Thanks.

Re: Top 10 longest handgag
'Fear is the key' with Suzy Kendall as the victim. Long handgag in bed.

Definitely 'Irreversible' with Monica Bellucci, but this one is very difficult to support...

The scene with Jodie Foster in 'The accused' is also a long one. Also difficult to support...

As someone who has worked on a shoot where a lame gag like that was used I can tell you at least on our shoot: It makes the gag more comfortable for the actress AND lasts longer for what a scene like that sometimes takes a couple of hours to shoot. Some people find cleave gags tied around the back of the neck very uncomfortable when tied properly AND when tied loosely tends to fall down, especially when they move their head. Thus, tied to the top of the head is more comfortable and especially when secured by a hidden hair pin, lasts longer. Not all actresses have the patience and/or strength to deal with a convincing/tight tie for a long period of time.

Hope that answers your question.

Re: LMN: Party From Hell / gag ties
I can get some types of gags can be uncomfortable for an actress for an extensive period of time but when you become an actor or actress you should be aware that you may have to do an occasionally physically uncomfortable task like doing a bondage scene that may take a while to shoot and may have you bound and gagged for a prolonged period of time. Any actress complaining about a gag being uncomfortable to me has no business being in the business. Something occasionally physically uncomfortable like being bound and gagged is something that sometimes is part of the territory of being an actress.

Malignant
Nice surprise in James Wan's new horror movie Malignant.
Actress Jean Louisa Kelly spends the second act of the movie tapegagged and tied with rope to an attic beam, arms bound off the sides. Her face is a bit bruised, but nothing too nasty, especially considering it's a horror movie.
Takes place across three scenes, the third is her getting free and crashing through the floor. She survives.

Re: Malignant
Nice to hear, I was looking forward to this movie to begin with so this is cool it has a bondage scene as a bonus. What kind of tape was she gagged with, the standard duct tape?

I have so many, but for me it's a toss-up between Missy Peregrym and Gillian Anderson.

Always wanted Jean Louisa Kelly to get a scene since she was on Yes Dear! back in the early 2000s.

Re: Malignant
Sounds very promising hope it comes to a cinema near me soon. James Wan also gave us Monica Potter's great cleave scenes in the original(and still the best)Saw. If the scenes in Malignant are as good I'll be well-satisfied

Forgot to add Cameron Diaz to this list. She's been a big favorite ever since her classic scene in A Life Less Ordinary.

Re: Malignant
Monica's Saw scenes are great, up there with the best. Wonderfully tight classic cleave. Loved how there were visible marks either side of her lips when the gag was removed. Not sure whether they were applied by make-up to show how tight the cleave was or were real coz the cleave really was that tight! Either way great attention to detail. If Jean's tapegag in Malignant is similarly well-applied it will be great. Hope her attic scenes aren't too darkly lit.

No, it's not. Actresses don't get into the business just to be bound and gagged. No matter how good or bad they are, they get into it to ... act. When they're bound and gagged, it's a bonus for us.

You may have a legit gripe to say an actress might not want to go for a bound and gagged role. But who is to say the director or props or whoever didn't decide to gag her more comfortably without even asking her just because it's an extended scene? Also, as the Insider noted, it could have been a choice to keep the gag from slipping. No one said the gag is the actresses choice in this instance, or some others, just that it's more comfortable.

As for this scene, it does go a little high, but with the amount of griping from people about this, I thought it was going to look like the I Love Lucy scene. It's a bit high but tied only around midway of her head. It's thick, which is good, and has a tightness in the medium-range shots.
