Apparently the whole possibility of her being a traitor is cut out of the movie, but I don't think that is relevant, and it ends soon after they escape into the desert. So if it's in there, it's likely nearer to the end. |

Saturday September 04 08:02:21 2021 Re: Dune Viewer AMA on r/Dune |
There's a much longer scene in the book where Jessica first awakes and tests her bonds to discover they're a special sort of fibre that constricts ever tighter when pulled at. The subsequent '84 and 2000 versions omitted this - the latter scene with Saskia Reeves was very brief too. Was hoping her full scene was reinstated by Villeneuve. Good that someone was bold enough to ask the question indeed but the reviewer probably regards it as weird and won't answer it. But you never know. Type of gag would be good to know |

Good that someone was bold enough to ask the question indeed but the reviewer probably regards it as weird and won't answer it. Hopefully a few more can follow suit and ask the same question. The reviewer seems to be answering less questions due to time constraints I assume. The more questions we can ask they more likely at least one of it will get answered. |
Saturday September 04 08:29:55 2021 Re: Dune Viewer AMA on r/Dune |
Somebody always grabs an illegal copy at one of these premiere screenings -especially when it's a film as hugely anticipated as this one. So keep an eye out for a really bad copy circulated online before it's quickly removed for breach of copyright. Don't want to know too much else about the plot though am looking forward to a sublime cinema experience asap. Keen to know if she has a full treatment scene, maybe see a pic, and that's it. |

I > presume so, since it was part of the 1984 and 2000 > versions, but...it's been quite a while since I read it As others said she does get gagged and there's a very good reason for it: being a Bene Geserit she can manipulate people by speaking in a certain way, she is sort of a witch. However, since she is knocked out before being restrained and this is a sci-fi movie, there are ways for the script to keep her silent without an actual gag. The villains could inject her with a vocal cord paralytic or something. We'll just have to wait and see |

On September 04 2021 (unsigned poster) wrote: > The subsequent '84 and 2000 versions omitted > this - the latter scene with Saskia Reeves was very brief If I remember correctly, the Saskia Reeves scene did not originally air when the movie debuted on Sci-Fi. That caused some issues on this page because I believe we'd seen a photo of the scene in a magazine, but it wasn't in the film. It wasn't until a longer version was released on DVD that we were actually able to see the scene itself. Not saying this will happen in the upcoming film, but the TV editors at the time apparently didn't think the scene was important enough to include in the initial airings. |

Saturday September 04 09:27:07 2021 Re: Dune Viewer AMA on r/Dune |
"Nope"!?! Meaning not even gagged at all!?! Either this "reviewer" is full of it or Villeneuve has gone down a piss-poor path here. More confirmation on the yay or nay needed here methinks. Surely the director wouldn't screw around with the plot that much. |
Saturday September 04 09:38:35 2021 Re: Dune Viewer AMA on r/Dune |
Ever since this new film was announced years back all that's interested me about it was the hope that Rebecca's scene would surpass Francesca's classic scene in every possible way. If no such scene even exists now in an effort to make the character "more fierce" or whatever that would rank as beyond disappointing. Would have little interest in seeing what basically amounts to over-pretentious twaddle. That scene was my only drawcard. |

Anyone know why? It could be that they like faker or looser, since they could slide down, or maybe they’re just contrary to what we expect so they seem worse. Either way, not a fan. |

Me either..they just look...weird. Like the one with Stefanie Powers on "Hart to Hart"...totally ruined the gag scene IMO. They sorts remind my of some of the gags used in cartoons, like exaggerating the gag or something (I think one of Daphne's gags in "Scoobie Doo" was of the "high on the head" type). But yeah, I'm definitely not a fan either. |

Yeah, I think that's it, along with the disappointment over what might have been, and the total lack of appreciation for aesthetics that whoever tied it that way must have had. (You think I overanalyze much?) |

Sounds like a non-event which is a shame especially for fans of the book who were expecting a very good scene. And the wait and anticipation has been endless too. But recall earlier this year someone said there was nothing in Cruella either so you never know. At least Rebecca Ferguson had that great gag scene in Mission Impossible. For every disappointment there's hopefully a great scene appearing in something else. Looking forward myself to Intrusion have a feeling Freida Pinto is going to get quite the 'treatment' in that :). |

Said scene(s)would definitely appear in this film, after the surprise Harkonnen attack. The Baron comes to gloat over the captured Jessica, and later she escapes on an ornithopter after her son uses the "voice" on their dopey guards. Will be quite unbelievable if they've skipped her bondage scenes actually, they are what makes those scenes work dramatically. |

According to the Reddit reviewer she's actually a bit weaker than he would have liked. That said, like someone above mentioned, easy ways to get around a bondage scene without changing the plot. I personally wouldn't hold out hope. The guy in the AMA clearly saw the film (plenty of details in that thread) and a scene like that stands out regardless of one's interests. The only real possibility left imo is that the scene is reserved for the sequel, but it's a pretty slim chance based on where he says the movie ends. Scene in question happens before that in every other depiction. |
Saturday September 04 23:05:42 2021 Re: Dune Viewer AMA on r/Dune |
Just can't imagine the Baron's 'gloating' scene without Jessica being gagged :(. What, is she going to be drugged to the eyeballs while Stellan monologues at her? Doesn't work at all for me, and I've been familiar with the book and 84 film most of my life. To be fair when he spat in her gagged face in Lynch's film that was extreme and wouldn't expect such a scene in these times, but...to have no gag at all, that's just weak. |
Saturday September 04 23:50:02 2021 Lifetime |
Tonights movie “Cheer for your life” on Lifetime certainly made up for last night’s disappointing scene - proper use of a cleave gag on both young ladies. |

Saturday September 04 23:53:35 2021 Lifetime: Cheer for your Life |
Lifetime’s latest cheerleader thriller delivers a good (albeit short) duo scene for Grace Patterson and Paige Kriet tonight. About the 1:45:00 mark Cheerleader Cindy (Patterson) is drugged by her rival cheerleaders at some sort of initiation dinner. She’s led upstairs where some of the football team were to have their way with her but fellow cheerleader Amber (Kriet) steps in and allows Cindy to escape. However she doesn’t get far and is knocked out cold in the driveway and brought back inside before cutting to commercial. Following the commercial we get a brief shot of both Cindy (still unconscious) and Amber bound hand and foot back-to-back and sporting thick white cleave gags. As a bonus they’re both barefoot and wearing formal cocktail dresses. We don’t get any more shots of them until Cindy’s mom comes barging in and finds them sitting on the bed bound and gagged. She goes over and ungags the unconscious Cindy and begins to untie them but doesn’t get far before the lead villain cheerleader comes into the room toting a gun. The mom and cheerleader duke it out all the while a still bound and gagged Amber looks on helplessly. Eventually the mom manages to stab the evil cheerleader and she than goes to finish untying/ungagging the two captives. Good looking gags, bonds, and damsels; just wish it had been a longer scene. |
