Friday April 01 15:33:55 2016 Brian, Say it isn't so! |
From today's International Media Journal website: CNN announced that it has begun an aggressive policy of acquiring websites geared toward what were previously considered deviant lifestyles. Thomas O'Barto, head of website development, said that crossover appeal is the main motivation. "If we can get readers to visit their 'naughty' websites while on our portal, then we'll be able to monetize their viewing, and perhaps gain a wider market share of the tertiary market." <snip> .... sites include naughtynickers.co - a U.K.-based site specializing in unusual bedroom apparel; catsmeow.ca - a Canadian-based site featuring the 'furry' lifestyle; brianspage.com - an American site where 'damsels in distress' in media are discussed; and wheresmyhair.com - a website where baldness and 'bad hair days' are celebrated. "We have plans to have our high-recognition anchors appear on these websites regularly. Christiane Amanpour has already agreed to moderate the fan board of catsmeow, and Wolf Blitzer has agreed to guest moderate the other boards on a periodical basis," O'Barto stated. <snip> Said Brian Rigoberto, known as 'Brian R' to regulars on brianspage.com, "I believe this is a great opportunity for both my website and CNN. I've been wanting to do something like this for a long time. Actually, I have an app that controls the day-to-day operation of my board: weeding out ridiculous posts and 'banning' posters who annoy me." The changeover will be gradual at first, stated O'Barto, but should be complete by the third quarter of this year. Time Warner, parent company of CNN, closed at 72.99, up 74 cents. |

>Time Warner, parent company of CNN, closed at 72.99, up 74 cents. Considering what DAY this is (APRIL FOOL'S DAY), I wouldn't take stock in it. |

But Wolf Blitzer would be a sure way to kill the site through sheer boredom. But suppose Christiane Amanpour were to become a spokesmodel -- and got talked into demonstrating a little of what appeals to DIDoids...? (OK,OK, enough of this aimless discussion, says the Mod...) |

I remember probably 2-3 years ago when someone tried to pull a fast one on us with a Erin Andrews tape gag commercial from Mountain Dew. It was actually pretty believable. |

Friday April 01 23:25:48 2016 The Originals |
Riley Voelkel is cleave-gagged and tied to a chair in the last scene of tonight's episode of "The Originals." May continue in next episode, though promos only show her with her hands tied in front as she is walked through some woods. |
