| Information for west coasters: The scene of Aly Michalka bound and gagged takes place in the second of the two episodes shown tonight ("Salivation Army"). The scene begins at 24 minutes into the episode (start recording when you see Aly Michalka with her hair up, wearing a blue-green sweater, and holding a glass and a cell phone) when the villains enter the apartment and knock the bearded guy out. She is then shown bound and gagged as the villains take her from the apartment. After that scene, she is next shown at 41 minutes into the episode (start recording when you see the caption "Emotional Rescue") as a captive of the villains. She is bound and gagged, laying on a couch. |

| I quite liked it overall. Nice "mmphhing" as she's getting tied up in the apartment. And not the whiney, whimpering, crying kind that gets quite annoying. Which was a plus in my opinion. I totally understand some of the complaints, but none of it was a deal breaker in my book. My biggest complaint only had to do with Aly teasing she'd be tied up for pretty much the entire episode on Instagram. Maybe I was naive for buying into it as much as I did, but we only got like what? Two and a half minutes combined? That was the major disappointment for me. That aside, I'd give the scene a solid B all things considered. |

| Definitely not a bad scene at all. Could've been better in some ways but at the same time still satisfying. Well worth the wait to finally see Aly get B&G. |

Speaking of deleted scenes, I'm still waiting to find out if there's a deleted scene from Taxi featuring Queen Latifah tape gagged on the DVD/Blu-Ray based on the chatter surrounding the topic from Monday Night. I ordered one of Amazon, so I'll find out soon enough. |

I bought Quigley Down Under and Winter Bone instead (JLaw's "gag scene" for now, Uncle Teardrop gives her a bandanna to put in her mouth to stuff the bleeding). |

After that, Kim will be confronting Maria Kanellis about her kidnapping, so it sounds like it's over fairly quickly. If anything happens (and my fingers are crossed it will; Kim is my favorite female wrestler), it's likely one drawn out scene and that's it. The main plot is that a heel tag team will hold her hostage to get a title shot with the champions. Once they get it, they'll likely let her go. The normal way this would go is the heels challenge the faces, then produce hostage and demand their match. The match will be set up during the same show and announced for the next week. |

Actresses are still going method by appearing tied/taped (recently Anna Kendrick) in submission, so they don't necessarily believe they have to be truly restrained if they act like they are. Like one of those plays on "Urinetown", where everything is loosey-goosey. But then there is always the possible allergic reaction with the tape, skin burns with multiple removals and communicating with the crew between takes also. |

I disagree with that. I think those concerns are usually not the issue. How many people are truly allergic to tape? Removing tape from skin does not leave burns. We have seen scenes where the bonds and gags are loose and we have seen scenes where the bonds and gags are realistic. It probably depends on the desires of the director, the person doing the binding and gagging, or the actress, depending on how realistic they want the scene to be or how much they want to get away with not being realistic. |

Just to clarify about my second statement: I would say that it leaves sticky tape residue, but it does not actually burn or damage the skin. The "huge chunk" of night vision they're referring to is only about 15secs from a 1min 25secs edit, and still perfectly watchable from an HD source. The scene was quite quick, but it delivered. Hi. Not out to argue. I was just going by miscellaneous commentaries I've heard over the years (including the one about skin irritation on the Transporter's) and another recent one about rubbing Vaseline on the actresses lips (I think Silent Retreat?). I remember one interview with a soap actress (Young&Restless or Bold&Beautiful telling her doctor she had an allergy to duct tape.) Tell you the truth I should be writing down notes from them before I start mixing them up as I have heard quite a few. Not to mention the behind the stuff, these low budget ones offer. |

I think Vanessa Marcil was also allergic to duct tape, and she was taped up a few times in "Las Vegas". Another factor why the gags are made less sticky is because, aside from the pain that the constant ripping-off and re-applying that may happen during takes, it also ruins the make-up. So they sandwich the gag with the non-sticky part apart from the sides so it at least sticks on her cheeks, then they add the ripping sound in post-production when the gag is removed on screen. |

Every week this show has great potential and every week it has been a major disappointment (as far as I know). Has this show had a bound-and-gagged scene yet? I just checked the database and there are no entries at all for it. The preview for the next episode shows an overweight, gray-haired woman bound, gagged, and blindfolded. Is that the best they can do???? |
