Looked it up, you're right, though it's episode 3. Nao takes pity on the hostage and unties her, and the woman repays her kindness by bashing her over the head and leaving her bound and gagged.

A similar theme shot around the same time is "Hitcher In The Dark" with Josie Bissett. I found it on DVD years ago. Also a great great video with similar scenes as Quake.

Tied up for her own good
What are some of the better scenes that use this trope? Where the damsel is tied up by a friend/family because they think it's in her best interest?

House of Bad

The stronger sis ties up the little junkie sister and uses her bandanna headband to OTM gag her.

Later on all three sisters are tied up by an angry drug dealer "for their own good".

Beyoncé Ivy Park
Not officially bondage but damn.... in Beyoncés new images for her Ivy Park active wear...she is suspended from
Gymnasts rings in a hogtie type position. This is probably the closest we'll get to something like this and I think it's pretty damn good.

The Devil Rides Out, Hammer horror from the 60s. Nike Arrighi's character is bound and gagged in a hayshed by her love interest cos she's been hypnotized and possessed or something by the evil devil-worshipping guy and she writhes around violently, but quite attractively.

Angry Kelly
Just found this movie on Amazon Prime. A woman flips out and takes three co-workers hostage (one girl, two putzes unfortunately). She is duct-tape gagged and her hands appear to be tied behind her back with yellow rope (rope seen when she is untied, but no shot of her hands) and feet tied also I think.

Another woman joins the group but is not tied or gagged. All eventually released.

This offbeat movie has a semi-serious, semi-comic tone to it -- released in 2014.

Re: Tied up for her own good
I recall an episode of Zena where Lucy Lawless bound and gagged Renee O'Connor along with a guy so they would no follow her.

Does *Sleeper* count? Granted B&G'ing Diane Keeton's character is for Woody Allen's character's good rather than hers, but it's a benign situation.

There's also *No My Darling Daughter.* Same caveat.

Does anyone know where this scene is from?

Re: Tied up for her own good
Coincidentally, the Verbotene Liebe scene I linked on Video yesterday falls into this category as well. (Damsel's friend ties her up so she'll overhear her boyfriend's evil plans.) I'll have an edit up soon along with some other episodes of that soap.
