Fair point, but the producers have said they simply used the character of Norman and the motel location as a jumping-off point for the show. Norman only kills two people (and only one's a woman) in the movie, and it takes place over a couple of days, so only a tiny bit of his "issues" might have been on display. And the movie was made more than 50 years ago, when combining bondage with violence was far more scandalous for a mainstream film than it is now. |
