A gun is rigged to shoot her if the door is opened to rescue her; the bad guy tying her props her head up against the back of the chair as he leaves. When she awakens, and realizes her danger, her struggling is unconvincing, since the bondage isn't terribly secure, but we do get to watch her plight for several minutes, until Steed comes through the window to rescue her. Not Dame Diana's most stringent role, but her casual manhandling by her captors is rather sexy. Wearing a blue cloth catsuit. Chloroformed at about 28 minutes then tied to the chair with thin white rope, the gag is black. Seen again at 30 minutes and rescued at 32 minutes (in a 50 minute broadcast slot without adverts). Faux gag fans may appreciate the "suitable for open-car motoring" outfit she chooses when she leaves at the end, with a white dust-mask covering her lower face, topped with a clear visor. Brief views, but the bondage is tight and Ms. Quayle is buxom. Good stuff. Anna's wearing a skirt, heels and black tights. There is also a chloroforming scene prior to the bondage. Quayle goes into a medical exam room under the pretense of getting some sort of foot treatment. As soon as she sits down in the chair we see the evil nurse preparing a rag with chloroform. Unfortunately, it is not the nurse who actually knocks Quayle out. A number of goons rush the room and one of them takes the cloth from her. Later, when Quayle is being rescued from the crate, Steed asks her, "How do you feel?" She replies, "Like someone who has been tied up and dumped in a box." Then they stuff a wedge of cloth into her mouth (actually, it's more like Ms. Rigg bites down on the cloth), encase her in tin foil from head to foot, and charge her full of electricity so when Steed touches her, he will be electrocuted. When Steed arrives, he follows the sound of Mrs. Peel's loud moaning (a lot of it!) to find her under wraps on the table. The criminals didn't count on Steed wearing rubber galoshes, and he releases her--but not before some playful taunting of her as she moans beneath the foil: "Mrs. Peel! I'd recognize those eyes anywhere." "Mmmppphhfff!" is her reply. This is a fairly long scene, but the bondage and particularly the gag are weak. Ms. Rigg gives it her all with the moaning, though. Since she refuses to talk, the last dip is held for what seems to be several minutes. She gasps for air when the pole is lifted of the water. Later taken to a dungeon where they keep the villagers that wouldn't cooperate chained up. Emma is put into a chastity belt which is chained to the wall and Hilary, the town's telephone operator who wouldn't keep quiet, is not only chained, but gagged with full metal scold's bridle and wearing wrists iron shackles in front with a long chain going to an iron ring in the wall.
