Title: Les nouveaux exploits d'Arsène Lupin aka Le retour d'Arsene Lupin aka The New Adventures of Arsene Lupin Medium: TV Series Actress: Mila Ouroumov Description: Episode: Herlock Sholmes s'en mêle aka Herlock Sholmes Gets Involved (2.6) Just before the 20-minute mark of this episode, anarchists invade a Bulgaria-bound train carrying a princess and Alexandra (Mila Ouroumov), a countesses' daughter. They supposedly mistake auburn-haired Alexandra for the princess. She protests her identity, but is handgagged and picked up and led out of the carriage. She is taken to a coal-carrying part of the train and hoisted up over the shoulder of one of the captors, again protesting she is the wrong person (they know this). When she is carried, we get an upskirt shot and then she is dumped on a pile of coal and a white rag placed over her mouth to knock her out. Lupin follows and is captured. When Alexandra awakens, her hands are bound behind her back with one of her shirts and she is shown with a black OTM,, along with Lupin. A couple of closeups and some gag conversation between the two. After that, only distance shots of her gagged (unfortunately Lupin's gag stays on longer). She is carried over the shoulder again and then dumped in the back of a horsecart. Alexandra and Lupin later are tied with rope back to back against a post in a sheep pen, but Lupin uses his lighter to burn through the ropes and they escape. For a good portion of the time they are on the run, she keeps the gag cloth around her neck. |

Woods is then nicely chloroformed onscreen, while Tuck is merely shown semi-conscious. Shortly after this, both women are shown still unconscious (initially), blindfolded with black cloths, each gagged with a strip of duct tape, hands tied in front with white rope, and tied back-to-back in chairs with more lengths of rope around their arms and waists. This scenario is revisited several times, with darker lighting than we might like but some reasonably good shots (including close-ups). At the hour mark, Woods' character is unblindfolded and ungagged by one of her captors, but she doesn't get to experience much relief because he immediately stabs her to death. Feh. Meanwhile, Tuck remains bound and understandably terrified -- but, in a boon for us, by the 66-minute mark, she's been retied with her hands behind and moved to much better lighting conditions. Nice close-ups as the antihero removes her blindfold (much to the consternation of his boss) but leaves the gag in place. Just a few minutes later, we see her lying on a bed, still gagged, blindfolded once again, and now with her ankles visibly bound as well. The hero once again removes her blindfold, eventually followed by her gag as he releases her. It's all over by the 73-minute mark. DVD viewers should be sure to check out the behind-the-scenes featurette, which includes an additional take of Tuck's scene on the bed, and the commentary track, in which the director sheds a few (crocodile?) tears for the amount of time that Tuck and Woods were required to spend bound. Kidnap and chloroform scene is at 0:44 - Damsels bound to chairs back to back w/tape gags and blindfolds at 0:45, 0:47, 0:49, 0:56, 0:59, 1:06, 1:09, - 2 scenes with damsel (Hillary Tuck) bound wrists behind, ankles together, gagged and blindfolded on a bed at 1:10 - Damsel has her legs freed and is ungagged at about 1:11. She convinces one of her captors to free her and so end the scenes.
