Record number: 5380 Title: The Adventures of Kit Carson (1954) Medium: TV Series Actress: Jan Shepard Description: Episode: "Outlaw's Justice" (4.20) Syndicated western series ran from the early to mid-50s. A crazed man sets up a trap for Toro who, around the 22nd minute, enters a trading post and sees pretty Emily (Jan Shepard) tied to a chair. He asks the gun-wielding captor what he has done with the Senorita. Pretty obvious, as she is cleave-gagged with a fairly thick, tight dark cloth. About three good closeups as it's revealed the man is going to blow up the place with dynamite. But Toro fakes a heart attack, distracts the man and Kit comes in through the back door and shoots the gun out of the captor's hands. Toro gets the honors of the untying as the scene cuts away. As far as 1950s Western serials go, this scene rivals most of the ones in "Sky King". Wong and Winchester Episode 5. Aired back in February with both the leads getting chairtied and cleave gagged. I believe there was an edit posted when it aired. |
