Action occurs shortly into the film and within the first 30 minutes. |

It's a very short scene, which is probably for the better, because the character is dead when discovered this way. Its fairly near the beginning of the movie as I recollect. Later in the film Charlie is chloroformed. |

| Previews for "Boomtown" show the ambulance being hijacked, and the female paramedic with her hands bound in front (of course giving the bad guy a hard time because of it.) Didn't see any signs of a gag, but it's a good show to watch anyway. |

Record number: 255 Title: Raiders Of The Lost Ark (1981) Medium: Movie Actress: Karen Allen Description: About halfway into the movie, Marion Ravenwood (Allen) is nabbed by the evil Nazis. Later hero Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) stumbles upon her in a Bedouin tent, cleave gagged with a sodden hankerchief, her wrists bound behind her back and around the center pole which supports the tent's roof. Indy ungags her and they have a tender reunion (he thought she was dead) but then rethinks the situation and decides to regag her much to her understandable (and vocal) dismay. Later, she is seen in the same predicament, briefly, as she tries to squirm away from one of the villians who unties her. In these scenes she's wearing slacks and a white and red patterned blouse. Towards the end of the film, Marion and Indy are tied to a stake back to back while the Nazis prepare to open the Ark. The ropes, curiously, tie their left wrists to the corresponding right one of their partner. When the spirits of the Ark are released, they destroy the Nazis and burn through the heroes bindings, leaving them unscathed. In the latter scene, Marion is wearing a white satin cocktail dress. |

| @12:05am CITY Record number: 6977 Title: Deviant Desire (2001) Medium: Movie Actress: Flower Edwards Description: Ms. Edwards, playing a cop investigating a bunch of bad guys, is tied to a chair by a single strand of cord around her upper torso, then briefly strangled with a silk scarf before being rescued. The scene occurs in the last ten minutes of the movie. It's not a blinkie but there's no gag and bondage is lame. @3:55am CITY Record number: 2223 Title: River Wild, The (1994) Medium: Movie Actress: Meryl Streep Description: At about an hour, after her family has been taken captive by Kevin Bacon and his buddies on a float trip, her character's husband sneaks over to where she lies bound, but ungagged, in a sleeping bag. There are a couple of shots of him cutting the ropes away from her ankles and later, her tied-in-front wrists. About 20 minutes later, she's shown sitting in a raft with her hands again tied in front (her husband had to run off and leave her behind the night before), as they approach rapids. Her wrists are untied so she can guide them through, but Bacon lashes one of her ankles to the boat with a long black strap. During the movie's climax about 20 minutes later, there's a good shot of Streep stretching over the edge of the boat to reach a dropped gun in the water, straining at the strap still tied to her ankle above her sandal-shod foot. @2:00pm Histcan Record number: 492 Title: Valdez is Coming (1971) Medium: Movie Actress: Susan Clark Description: Kidnapped by Valdez (Burt Lancaster) to lure her evil rancher husband into a trap, she is tied and gagged with thick cloth between the teeth. He leaves her floundering in the scrub as he stalks the bad guy. Because of her speech impediment, she can't attract a potential rescuer when walks nearby. @4:00pm CKVR Record number: 4362 Title: Lost World, The Medium: TV Series Actress: Jennifer O'Dell Description: Episode: "Trophies" (2.11) Captured by a fortune hunter, Veronica (O'Dell) spends most of the last half hour wth her hands tied behind her back and with a giant metal scissor-like collar locked around her neck. No gag. The collar is at the end of a long metal pole which her captors use to lead her around by walking behind her and pushing her forward. A couple of closeups of her bound hands. @4:00pm CFTM Abracadabra (1993) aka, US title: Record number: 2298 Title: Hocus Pocus (1993) Medium: Movie Actress: Thora Birch Description: Thora Birch is first handgagged by Najimy in a closet, and is later tied to a chair. No gag, but she does manage to insult Midler and struggles quite a bit. @4:00pm YTV & @8:00pm TVOntario Record number: 4333 Title: Beetlejuice (1988) Medium: Movie Actress: Winona Ryder, Geena Davis, Catherine O'Hara Description: Ms. Davis has her mouth zipped up, literally, and then has a metal plate riveted over it by Betelgeuse with around twenty minutes left (with commercials). Also, Ms. O'Hara is grabbed by her own many-armed sculpture, given life by the aforementioned Mr. B shortly before the above scene; and Ms. Ryder is handgagged by the same malefactor in an attempt at unholy wedlock just before same. @7:00pm CKVR Record number: 4175 Title: Immortal, The (2000) Medium: TV Series Actress: April Telek Description: Episode: "Learning Curve" (1.13) Ms. Telek is captured by the dark forces and begins the scene ungagged and strapped in a chair (wrists to the arms, a strap across her forehead) at around the 45' mark. After the ad break (when I saw it), "Goodwin", under Evil's control, cleavegags her with a necktie. She has a cute goofy expression on her face when he brings the tie over her head and into her mouth. There's at least one closeup, and a variety of other shots, while the fight rages. She's freed around the 50' mark (again, with the ad break). |
