Record number: 1351 Title: Oxygen (1999) Medium: TV Movie Actress: Laila Robins, Maura Tierney Description: About three minutes into the film, Robins' rich-man's-wife character is grabbed for ransom and ends up kneeling ungagged in the woods, doing a good job of pretending her hands are tied behind her as she tearfully begs her captors not to bury her alive. Inexplicably, she isn't bound when they place her in the box. About an hour and 20 minutes later, Tierney, playing a cop on the kidnappers' trail, lets the lead baddie get the drop on her during an interrogation, and is taken out to the burial site, where she's duct-tape gagged and her wrists are lashed together over her head and tied to a rope around a tree trunk she kneels beside. |

Record number: 1425 Title: Orgazmo (1997) Medium: Movie Actress: Shayla LaVeaux, unknown, Robyn Lynne Raab Description: About 45 minutes in, LaVeaux and an unidentified actress dressed as classical Greek women are tied-or at least it's made to look like they're tied-standing to posts at either end of the headboard of a large bed that serves as the centerpiece of a porno movie set. Raab gets tied by her wrists to those same posts near the movie's end, although the ropes are so long she's not truly spreadeagled, at the behest of the porno filmmaker, who's kidnapped her to convince her character's boyfriend he really doesn't want to leave the dirty movie business. When she expresses similar sentiments, he responds by slapping a strip of wide tan packing tape over her mouth, yielding a few good mmphing shots during the final fight scene. Added bonus: in the beginning credits, there is a comic-book drawing of a woman bound and gagged slung over Orgazmo's shoulder. There may be other items of interest, so watch closely. |

After a few fruitless attempts to get free, Buffy succeeds in getting hold of a scalpel or something from the wheel-table with surgical instruments the cruel Invisible Girl has placed too close to her. She cuts herself free, and after a fight the invisible girl is taken away by two FBI men. In the end, Cordelia asks, "Can I be untied now?" As Buffy prepares to down the evil presence there is one of the most effective scenes in the whole of the series. Buffy stands silently so that her keen senses can tell where the enemy is located. A light breeze blows through her hair; the whole scene is magical. Then she does her stuff. |

The scene occurs about 35' in (with ads), and runs for about four minutes. |

| Lord knows what this is doing on the Westerns Channel. They probably mixed it up with Buck Benny Rides Again. Anyway, This Jack Benny comedy ends with Priscilla Lane's father thinking she and Jack have been in a "love nest" (which is as racy as you could get in the 40s) and arranges a shotgun wedding with the two of them fairly decently tied to chairs, hands to the arms. Goes on for quite a while. No gag.
This channel repeats everything, so it should be around again. |
