The ladies are blindfolded, shackled, gagged with duct tape. One character is raped by their menacing captor -- off screen, mercifully. The scene, despite this shortcomming, is a multi-damsel scene (a rare kind of scene that is always welcome in my book) with a reasonable length with some decent close-ups especially those of the mother and the elder daughter. In addition, the mother told the police that she and her daughters were "tied up" in a bathroom at a rest area on the NY Thruway when they were found by her father-in-law. Too bad they did not show the rescue! While I personally could have done without the rape scene, I have to admit that such scene certainly added to the episode's drama and suspense. Moreover, that scene gave a very credible sense of urgency and determination to police's efforts to catch the bad guy and also contributed greatly to the victims' ultimate decision to assist the police. Hence, the rape scene made a major contribution to the plot of the episode. First scene occurs around the 12' mark and last scene ends by the 25' mark. |

After he tries to get her to talk to him in a somewhat friendly manner, she tries to stab him with a broken bottle. This leads to her being tortured over the next 21 days. The torture includes being tied to a chair, hands behind her back, being dunked in a tub of water, and being given painful injections. When she finally breaks and gives the information demanded, she is brought back to her cell and left standing spreadeagled in chains. Ordered to finish her off, one of her tormentors approaches her slouching body with another injection, but instead of killing her, he smuggles her out and to a clinic to get her help. She wears a white dress throughout the ordeal, but looks increasingly haggard as the torture progresses. |

Wearing a skirt, she's tied with her hands behind her back around a coat rack, with bound ankles and a nice blue cleave gag to complete the scene. Her assailant places a pillow under her knees, then leaves her to struggle. He leaves her there while he travels around the city, trying to contact some of his buddies (looking for a solution to the little problem that the police are chasing him). After this proves futile, he comes back and unties her - just in time for her to answer the doorbell and cover for him by lying to the police. The entire thing lasts only a minute or so, but it's a very good minute, featuring some of the best closeups I've been fortunate enough to see. |
