Record number: 169 Title: Big Trouble in Little China (1986) aka John Carpenter's Big Trouble in Little China Medium: Movie Actress: Suzee Pai, Kim Cattrall Description: Ms. Pai is shown tied down to a bed and cleavegagged with a thick piece of terry cloth at around the 30' mark (no commercials). There are several nice close-ups. As she is about to be wisked away by the demon, we can see that Ms. Pai's shoes have been removed during her captivity. There is a close up of her bound stocking feet when the demon cuts the rope that ties them to the bottom of the bed. Around the 50' mark, Ms. Cattrall is shown in a cage laying on her stomach in a strict hogtie. She is also very tightly cleave-gagged with black cloth. Her hands are bound behind her back, and her ankles are tied together. A rope extends from her ankles over her left shoulder, around her neck, then back over her right shoulder and down to her bound hands, putting her in a hogtie. After she is rescued by Kurt Russell, she flees the warehouse with her gag still in place. No mention of Ms. Cattrall's hogtie or why she is the only one tied up in the audio commentary track While the others drive away from the warehouse, Gracie (Kim Cattrall) is again grabbed by Lo-Pan in beast-form, and gets placed with her wrists slapped in chains bolted to the floor. Note: On the Blu-ray and possible the dvd release, there is a deleted scene in the special features. One of the scenes shows a deleted scene of Ms. Pai. The footage is from old stock and some betamax footage. The camera plans up from Ms. Pai's feet to her head as the lady tells her sorry for the bruise on her face. |

Record number: 12222 Title: Law & Order: Criminal Intent aka Law & Order: CI Medium: TV Series Actress: Abby Royle, Kristina Valada-Viars, Kathryn Erbe Description: Episode: "Blind Spot" (6.1) Royle is handgagged just be for opening title. Over first commercial, we find Royle her dead with her mouth gagged and bloody. A blanket was lying from her waist down. When her boyfriend is interviewed, they show him a picture of her with tape over eyes, mouth and around her waist. All in the first 15 min. Valada-Viars is found dead lying against the foot of a treet. She has her hands bound with tape in front of her and tape gagged. She is dead and bloody also. 15 to 20 min mark. Erbes is hit on the side of the face with a metal object after noticing her bird is dead. Roughly 28-30 min mark. After commercial, we find her bound with her hands over her head to a hook as a fourth victim is being tortured. We only see this victim dead and unbound in the trunk of Erbes car. Erbes is tape gagged with cloth in her mouth and blindfolded with a scarf. You notice the stuffing as some picks out when you get a closeup of her face. She is briefly ungagged as her partner tries to call. After next commercial, she manages to slide the blindfold down with her arm to see that she is alone. She manages to unscrew the hook that holds her arms over her head. We get a closeup of her hands as she does this. Her hands are bound together with tape along with a leather strap. Her feet are never bound. She uses her mouth to remove the strap binding her hands, leaving her hands bound with tape. We never are showed how she removes the tape. She manages to call for help and is found in the hospital. Her scenes end at about the 45 min. mark. |

In this episode, she releases Robin from captivity in the dungeon. To cover his escape, she insists, "You must tie me up and bind me." She has her arms stretched out with manacles and Robin gags her over the mouth after a farewell kiss. When the guards find her later, she berates them for not keeping better watch. |

Record number: 6241 Title: Joy Ride (2001) aka Roadkill Medium: Movie Actress: Leelee Sobieski, Jessica Bowman Description: Venna Wilcox (Sobieski) is captured by the killer and used as bait. Venna is handgagged in a dark corn field at about 1:12 into the movie. She is held captive in a hotel room, tied onscreen to a chair, arms behind, with several turns of clear pallet (plastic) wrap and gagged with clear tape that is wrapped around her mouth several times. This happens at about 1:16 in. There is a shotgun at the door, rigged to go off if anyone opens it. The scene is switched back and forth to several times. Numerous close-ups and wondeful mmmppphing by Leelee make this scene a must-see, even for those who despise clear tapegags! Towards the end of the film (around 1:30), there's a brief scene where "Charlotte" (Jessica Bowman) is seen (in the cab of a truck) wearing a very tight dark-colored bandana cleave gag. Shot is from the head up with no ropes or restraints visible. Scene is approx 4 minutes long when you cut out the side scenes. Lots and lots (and lots) of clear tape used. Not a short scene. On the "Special Edition" dvd, there is a long alternate ending where Ms. Bowman is found suspended inside of a railroad car. Unfortunately it is shot from about fifteen feet away and only "lit" by police flashlights. Her hands are chained together in front of her and there are chains wrapped around her arms and body. Can't tell if she's gagged or not. Either way, she starts screaming and kicking when a policeman touches her. Later, Ms. Sobieski is abducted, then discovered inside the trucker's trailer with her hands strapped slightly above head level to slats of a crate she's standing against. No gag. Neither of the bondage scenes from the film's theatrical version appear in this alternate ending. |
