Record number: 1608 Title: Adventures of Superman (1952) Medium: TV Series Actress: Phyllis Coates, Ann Doran Description: Episode: "Night of Terror" (1.6) Lois Lane (Coates) and Mrs. King (Doran) are imprisoned at a campground owned by King. They are bound back to back, and detective gagged with white cloths. The crooks are waiting for a triggerman named "Babyface", when Jimmy Olsen arrives searching for Lois, they assume he's the killer and give him a gun with two bullets to finish off the damsels. Olsen releases the women, however almost immediately they become suspicious and recapture the trio. Fortunately Superman arrives just in time. Overall a good scene of moderate length where Lois struggles mightily against her bonds; it would have been much better if the other woman hadn't just sat like a lump with her chin against her chest. Fortunately, Lois is facing the camera and the other woman is mostly behind Lois. IMHO, Phyllis Coates was a vastly superior Lois Lane than Noel Neill. 1) She's a better actress. 2) Her bondage scenes were tighter and more "realistic". 3) During Coates' time on the series, "The Adventures of Superman" were really adventures; during Neill's tenure, the plots ranged from farce to slapstick and got sillier with each passing season. 4) One could never take Niell's seriously as an ace reporter; Phyllis' Lois Lane always seemed to be someone who a villian would need to "get out of the way." This scene is a case in point. |

Many, many close-ups (including a great one while she is being gagged) in this long, classic scene. @7:45am BravoC Record number: 614 Title: Black Pirate, The (1926) Medium: Movie Actress: Billie Dove Description: Billie Dove is briefly seen with her back to the paneled wall in her cabin, with her arms outstreached and her wrists tied to the paneling. @2:00pm BravoC Record number: 3963 Title: Swashbuckler (1976) Medium: Movie Actress: Genevieve Bujold Description: Pretty much a waste of talent, this managled pirate opus did have one scene where the lovely Jane Barnet (Bujold) is chained in the prison of the evil governor. @7:00pm ShowC Record number: 1637 Title: Avalanche (1994) Medium: TV Movie Actress: Deanna Milligan Description: Shortly after being handgagged by The Hasselhoff Himself about 70' in, there's an approximately minute-long scene with Ms. Milligan bound to a chair with ropes around her torso and wrists behind, and sporting a yellow-and-white overgag. I can't tell whether her ankles are bound. Goodly bit of vocalization. |

I haven't seen this opus, but the DB entry certainly makes it seem worthwhile to have the VCR programmed for recording in the wee hours. |

Record number: 5219 Title: Daughters of Satan (1972) Medium: Movie Actress: Barra Grant Description: The first occurs seconds after the opening credits. A topless women is suspended by one wrist over wooden stakes, there is a bit of strappado action as the henchman roughly lowers the women closer to the spikes. The second scene doesn't involve suspension or stretching per se, but it is a good hands over head scene of topless cutie Chris Robertson (Grant). Tom Selleck starred in this Philippines-made opus long before his "Magnum, P.I." days. |
