Later, when the kidnapper removes the bag she starts to scream so the he puts a piece of cloth in her mouth and duct tape gags her. The gag is taken off and put back on several times as he talks with her and to let her eat and drink. When the VCTF finds out where he is holding her, he takes her to a abandoned water plant, removes the bag and gag because she can "Scream all you want, no one will hear you." Finally, she complains the handcuffs are hurting her, so he removes them and uses more duct tape to bind her wrists and ankles in front. |

Proteus wants a child with Susan (Julie Christie) the wife of the scientist who created it. Since she refuses to cooperate Proteus uses a robot on wheels who grabs her by the neck on a sofa until she passes out. In the next scene the camera spans slowly starting with her ankles which are tied with scarfs to the bed posts. She is wearing a white robe, her right leg is exposed. We then see her wrists also tied with scarfs, tightly. She is on a spreadeagle in her bed, no gag. The machine has inserted two needles into her temples in order to “wash” her brain into accepting her destiny. In a close up of her left wrist we see that Julie Christie is indeed effectively and tightly tied to the bed post. She is save by the arrival of a young associate of her husband who rings the door bell. Proteus wants Susan to answer and to send him away. Thus, she is set loose under the threat of killing the young guy if she does not obey. In chapter 14 of the DVD |

Her hands are tied to the railing of the steel bed with grey rope. The mystery killer tape gags her with a short strip of wide black electrical tape, which is later removed. She then trys to bite the villain, who regags her. Lots of screaming and struggling. When this aired on USA, the scene came in later, due to commercials. I believe it popped around the last fifteen minutes. In any event, it occurs after Ms. Witt hears screaming from a building and rushes to help. Bonus: At around the 43' mark (USA), another young woman (Harris) is handgagged before meeting an untimely end. |

| Title: Joy Ride (2001) aka Roadkill Medium: Movie Actress: Leelee Sobieski, Jessica Bowman Description: Venna Wilcox (Sobieski) is captured by the killer and used as bait. Venna is handgagged in a dark corn field at about 1:12 into the movie. She is held captive in a hotel room, tied onscreen to a chair, arms behind, with several turns of clear pallet (plastic) wrap and gagged with clear tape that is wrapped around her mouth several times. This happens at about 1:16 in. There is a shotgun at the door, rigged to go off if anyone opens it. The scene is switched back and forth to several times. Numerous close-ups and wondeful mmmppphing by Leelee make this scene a must-see, even for those who despise clear tapegags! Towards the end of the film (around 1:30), there's a brief scene where "Charlotte" (Jessica Bowman) is seen (in the cab of a truck) wearing a very tight dark-colored bandana cleave gag. Shot is from the head up with no ropes or restraints visible. Scene is approx 4 minutes long when you cut out the side scenes. Lots and lots (and lots) of clear tape used. Not a short scene. |

Versions of the film usually aired on British TV are the same, but the first cut I ever saw (also on TV) had a scene in which Redford started by saying, "I need your car." He proceeded to tie her up against her protestations, and just before he gagged her, she said, "This is not fair!" There were several almost-closeups of her face being gagged and struggling as Redford left. The order of scenes is also changed in subsequent versions; the original sequence made the narrative much clearer. |

| At the very end of the novela a preview of todays show had three hombres kidnapping a dark haired girl who was laying on a bed. one hombre had her hand gagged whule another pointed a gun at her head and the third held her legs. i do not know if it was Lorena Rojas or two of the other dark haired girls in the show. we can only hope the it was Lorena Rojas who is one of the most beautiful ladies of the tv novela scene. tape it we could get lucky! |
